Wow, thank you to those who have kept us in your prayers as well as posted such sweet comments on my blog. That truly means a lot!
The appt. went fine. I made the world record for the shortest dr.'s appointment EVER! I was there at 5 till 9 and was OUT IN MY CAR AT 9:11am!! wow! He was under the impression that I had started my pd (again; which last time I was on my pd at the appt. and VERY MUCH SO avoided that this time) which I have not started my pd yet (2 days from today is when it's expected) so he went ahead, went out of his way actually, to go ahead and check me for cysts ( NO CYSTS STILL :) YEAH!!) and said that I could be pg but it's too early to tell. He said to wait and see if I do start but went ahead and gave me another prescription for Clomd (50mg) Just in case. He kept smiling when he said that, which he is not a "smiley" person. I dunno. I felt a lot better afterwards because he could have made me come back and blah blah blah but went ahead and went out of his way. He gave NO intimacy advice! :) yeah!!!! I'M SICK TO DEATH OF THAT! Haha...He said, "just wait and see...if your pd doesn't show, take a test in 2 weeks. *smile*". I felt a lot more at-ease and had peace.
I'm not getting my hopes up because even though my chart looks great and my temps are still high, I've been known to have a plummeting temperature the day off after having really high temps till then and BAM.. aunt flo so i'm not getting my hopes up too much but I PRAY for this peace to continue. :)
Again, thanks for all ur prayers and concerns! :) I TRULY felt them today! I listened to KLove all the way to Texarkana and all around town and then all the way home and just sang praises to Him and cried and cried... I feel true release and emotional calamity now.

I don't care
Posted by
~Bekah
Hello! I just wanted to ask for prayer because I go BACK to my dr. for my usual monthly check-up tomorrow (Tuesday, Sept. 30). I'm not quite sure what he'll say or even do but I'm assuming the same O same O. yippee... I'm really not wanting to go because I'm actually tired of hearing about it all. I'm tired of me having this unknown reason to why we aren't pregnant yet and I'm tired of being a guinea pig to where we just keep "trying". I don't like the medicine, Clomid, because it makes me a crazy person for almost 3 of the 4 weeks each month I take it (I only take it for 5 days so it's some pretty strong stuff for only 50mg). I just need peace and closure. I'm no longer making this the priority in my life. I've made my relationship w/ GOD the #1 priority in my life as well as my relationship w/ my husband. I know he's tired too. We don't ever talk about this and it's become such a burden really to even think about. I've now got the attitude of "I don't care". Josh has always had the attitude of "what will be, will be" and that drives me nuts but ya know, I'm beginning to think he's got the right attitude. Nothing I seem to try to control is working so why bother anymore? God is in control of this, not me w/ my OCD habits.
This week, I've got more on my plate than I can handle but at least it's keeping my mind of our conception issue, or excuse me, MY conception issue. Josh is fine...I'm the one w/ the "Unknown problem." Anyway... sewing this week is keeping me busy and A LOT more is to come! I'll post more pic's of my finished projects when I can! I'll be off work ALL day tomorrow (one good thing about my dr. visit) so I will update you on how the visit went as well as my new finished projects!
Keep us in your prayers

Sewing with Mom

** NEW PIC'S WILL BE POSTED DAILY ***
My mother is the most accomplished seamstress I know and can do ANYTHING when it comes to sewing! I hope to only be half as good as she is one day! She came down today to help me with this HUGE project I've got going on and rocked it out! She also showed me some techniques she uses and I LOVE learning from her! :) She is amazing at this stuff! I sent "homework" home w/ her so I'll have those pic's after Thursday when she's done. Together, we finished 4 diaper bags and after she left, I finished 2 more! wheeewww... I'm soo exhausted now!
Here's some pic's of them:
(Dee Dee wanted in the pic.... silly dog)
Here they are individually (I have to thank mom as well for helping me sew these up):
I love this fabric below ( i got it for me a while back but o well...):
The inside:
This is the Pom Pom Cheer bag my best friend commissioned me to do for her school's little girl's cheer team. The megaphone is blank for the girls names to be monogrammed on them. I love how this bag turned out! It's the perfect size for little girls!
WHHHEEEEWWWWWW... I'M TIRED!!
We've got a HUGE day ahead of us tomorrow also. Since my hubby's birthday was Wed., the 24th and we couldn't celebrate w/ all the family during the week, my mother-in-law planned Josh's b-day party tomorrow afternoon. His brother, Jeff, and his family, my mom & dad (back again) and then Josh's parents (well and me and Josh...haha) will all be there. I love it when we all get together! Then, Josh and I are singing at church tomorrow night so I'm pretty stoaked about that because we haven't sang together, as a special, in FOREVER. I love singing with Josh. ;)
He's still at the SAU Football game, is skipped that today to sew. I'm soo tired....
Have a great evening!

***UPDATE***
My friend, Becky, that works on campus here sent me some GREAT shots she got at the rodeo last night! Course, the one part I wanted to see (bull riding) happened after we left (we left at 9pm and it STILL wasn't over!). Oh well, at least I can see it was some GREAT RIDING!
THANK YOU BECKY FOR YOUR AWESOME PICTURES AND THE AMAZING JOB YOU ALWAYS DO FOR SAU!
Ok, so we had a BLAST at the SAU Rodeo last night! It was perfect weather and a clear sky but the only bad thing was that 2 kids from other colleges got seriously hurt. One got stepped on by a bronco he fell off of and had a gash in his head and another kid from Tennessee, I think, fell off his bare back bronco and we thought he was dead. He was limp and started having convulsions. It was truly scary. They took them both to the hospital. We spoke w/ the on-call medic at the rodeo and he said they will both be fine that it wasn't anything seriously life-threatening so I felt better knowing that. Another downfall, Josh slipped and fell between one of the bleacher seats and cut and bruised up BOTH shines really bad. I didn't even see him do it. :( I don't know what I was doing to miss it.
Well, and I did what I said I'd probably do, forgot my camera... :( Maybe our school photographer could send me some pics. I'm good friends w/ her so once I get 'em I'll post 'em! :)
All in all, it was a great evening out w/ my hubby, even though I'M SOOO NOT a cowgirl. Haha. The only boots I own, and yes I wore them, have beading and shiney things all over them. Haha... leave it to me to have bling boots! haha..

Go Muleriders Go!

~Bekah
A co-worker of my husband's requested me to make her grand daugther an SAU Muleriders hair bow for our 1st home game this weekend, Family Day. I'm not going because I'm sewing w/ my mom this weekend (YEAH!). SAU games make for a long day but Family Day is as much fun as Homecoming! Lots to do and lots to see but I just need to spend time w/ mom and I NEED TO sew up all these bags I have cut out!
This bow turned out soo cute! She wanted one to match her little cheerleading outfit, she's in either Pre-K or Kindergarten, I can't remember. I can't wait to see her wear it!
This picture below shows how the back of each bow I do looks like. Very minimal gluing but it has a lined barrette on each one to cover up most of it. It's a bit more work but I just think this looks more professional. I like all my things to look good inside and out; as perfect as possible..that would be the OCD coming out in me. haha...
THE RODEO STARTS!!
Tonight is SAU's 1st night of Rodeo at our Fairgrounds and I'M SOOO EXCITED (The pic above is not from SAU's rodeo...just a random pic to get myself pumped up!)! I even wore my dark jeans, button up shirt and boots to work today to represent! haha. Josh and I are going and I'm soo pumped! The only thing I can't stand or tolerate is the calf roping. I cry everytime. It makes me sad. :( I feel like they're helpless and running for their lives. I just think of how I would feel if that was me. :( That's the only part of rodeo I don't like. I'm gonna take my camera, if I don't forget, so I can post pic's tomorrow.
GO BLUE AND GOLD!! Go Muleriders Go!

Birthdays and Bows
Posted by
~Bekah
So today (Sept. 24th) I celebrate 2 birthday's, my husband's (he turns 29 today!) and my LITTLE brother's (yeah, he's younger but looks older! He turns 22 today)! I hope you both have a great birthday! What's cool is that not only do my brother and husband share the same birthday, but me and my brother's girlfriend, Jessica, share the same birthday (Feb. 9th)!! Isn't that wild?! I've only met like a few people that share my birthday and my brother is dating one of them! haha...
My hubby, Josh (this pic was taken of us at Christmas at SAU's Foundation Gala, where Josh works here on campus):
My little brother, Jonathan and his girlfriend Jessica (I love this pic! It is his personality TO A "T"!):
Last night, I finished cutting out some diaper bags I'm starting on and my back was killing me so I decided to start playing around with making some more bows for friends and just to have to show and I came up with a purple and white pawprint bow, which could go for the El Dorado Wildcats (which I didn't go to school there, but I wanted to use the purple ribbon) or it could go for LSU. Do you know how hard it is to match the TRUE LSU colors? Ugh...it's insane! I'm working on an LSU Bag and outfit so I thought this bow would do to match the outfit. It's just tough finding their gold color b/c it's not yellow like most think....anyhoo....
Then I played around with one of my favorite color combinations, Pink and White (GO PHI MU!!! That's the sorority I'm an alumnae for), and I just LOVE my little cupcake ribbon so I added that. Of course, I had to throw some ric rac in there. LOL.... I think it turned out cute!
All of my bows are hand-sewn and constructed with very minimal gluing (the barrette is really the only thing mainly glued). I love making bows! My mom made a bow for EVERY outfit I ever had, SERIOUSLY! I remember having one for Halloween one year that glowed in the dark! LOL...
Have a blessed day and Wish my brother and my hubby Happy Birthday if you see them! :)

The Wait Poem
Posted by
~Bekah
I've not posted lately anything about our journey because I've been frustrated and the words weren't coming out right. Since our weekend trip, I've found rest and peace but that's not without confusion and frustration. A dear friend of mine contacted me last night saying that she went for her 1st ultrasound and they found nothing there but the egg sac. They told her that she could just be off in her weeks/days and that it was too small to see and that they would be monitoring her numbers throughout the week. She told me that she knows the truth in her heart that it's not numbers...
I wrestled with this all through the night last night to why this was happening to her (she and I have been trying for our 1st about the same amount of time and she's been an encouraging word, even though we've never met in person throughout it all) and why we were going through what we were going through also.
Next month, Oct. 16 to be exact, marks 1 year for us trying for our first baby and that breaks my heart. It really hit me hard the other day when we got home from our weekend getaway. 1 year?! I never thought this would be us going through this.
A lady that found a reply of mine to a post on another blog messaged me last night and mentioned this poem she had posted on her blog from the book Hannah's Hope and thought I should read it. The lady's name is Mandi and I am truly thankful for her encouraging words and told her that I had to post this to share with you.
The Wait Poem
Desperately, helplessly, longingly, I cried;
Quietly, patiently, lovingly, God replied.
I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate...
and the Master so gently said,"Wait."
"Wait? you say wait?" my indignant reply."
Lord, I need answers, I need to know why!
"Is your hand shortened? Or have you not heard?
By faith I have asked, and I'm claiming your Word.
My future and all to which I relate
hangs in the balance and you tell me to Wait?"
I'm needing a 'yes', a go-ahead sign.
Or even a 'no,' to which I'll resign.
You promised, dear Lord, that if we believe,
We need but to ask, and we shall receive.
Lord, I've been asking, and this is my cry:
I'm weary of asking! I need a reply.
Then quietly, softly, I learned of my fate
as my Master replied again, "Wait."
So I slumped in my chair, defeated and taut,
and grumbled to God, "So, I'm waiting...for what?"
He seemed then to kneel, and His eyes met with mine...
and He tenderly said, "I could give you a sign.
I could shake the heavens and darken the sun.
I could raise the dead and cause mountains to run.
I could give all you seek and pleased you would be.
You'd have what you want, but you wouldn't know Me.
You'd not know the depth of My love for each saint.
You'd not know the power that I give to the faint.
You'd not learn to see through clouds of despair;
you'd not learn to trust just by knowing I'm there.
You'd not know the joy of resting in Me
when darkness and silence are all you can see.
You'd never experience the fullness of love
when the peace of My spirit descends like a dove.
You would know that I give, and I save, for a start,
But you'd not know the depth of the beat of My heart.
The glow of My comfort late into the night,
the faith that I give when you walk without sight.
The depth that's beyond getting just what you ask
From an infinite God who makes what you have last.
You'd never know should your pain quickly flee,
what it means that My grace is sufficient for thee.
Yes, your dearest dreams overnight would come true,
but oh, the loss if I lost what I'm doing in you.
So, be silent, my child, and in time you will see
that the greatest of gifts is to truly know me.
And though oft My answers seem terribly late,
My most precious answer of all is still "WAIT".
This poem reminded me why we're going through this and that we are to wait on God and not rush His timing. Our testimony from this will do nothing but glorify God and our tears will be changed to pure joy. Thank you for all those that pray for us and have sent us encouraging words. It truly means the world to me.

Our Fur Baby
Posted by
~Bekah
So I cannot believe I haven't posted pictures of our precious fur baby, Dee Dee. His actual name is Edgar Degas Kee (Edgar Degas, after my favorite Impressionist artist, which is his name). Dee Dee turned 5 on May 21, 2008 and is the light of my life. He is soo full of compassion, personality and thinks that EVERYONE who sees him of comes by the house is there for him and to say how cute he is, this is the honest truth! He LOVES people and is so active and hilarious to watch. He is truly our baby. I don't know what I'd do without him.
Dee Dee is a full-blood Yorkshire Terrier but, as you can see, is not the normal teeny tiny size. Dee is 15lbs, or more...not sure if he's gained or not, but looks identical to the little bitty Yorkies. He is also known as "The Grand-Puppy," as my in-laws call him. haha....He has changed soo much throughout the years. I love to see how his colors have changed. He is now more redish than ever and sooo sweet!I can't imagine a day without Dee.
This picture below was taken of him the day I was blessed to have him come into my life.
Dee at Christmas time throughout the years (he hates that sweater by the way):

Deer Woods Decor
Posted by
~Bekah
Ok so I know the title made you laugh... haha...
I found these GORGEOUS feathers in the deer woods yesterday while riding four-wheelers w/ Josh and my in-laws; we were scoping out to see if any deer had been in their hunting grounds. I think they are simply GORGEOUS and found one at first then 2 more the longer we rode. I couldn't resist sticking one in my ponytail like Pocahontas and yes, I did wear it for a while until I almost lost it on a low tree branch then I took it out because I could not lose my treasure! I was soo excited to fine 2 more because when I decorate, I always decorate in 3's! That's the college art degree in me! 3 is better and more co-hesive than 1 or 2 or 4. Just more eye-appealing. :) Guess I did pay attention in class! hahaha. Anyway, the question at hand is, what kind of bird did these come from?? My father-in-law and husband say they are from Turkies!? Are they?
Ok, a little background on me and my fear of turkies. When I was 6, we went to the fair, like we always did, and visited Old McDonald's farm and I was attacked, yes, attacked by a white turkey and to this day, I'm terrified of them! Haha...so, to get my revenge on the children-attacking turkies of the USA, I decided to use their feathers as decorations on my mantel. :) haha.. my job here is done!

I'm Back! We had a delightful time camping ALONE! Bear w/ me..this will be a long one... Here's some pics from our lake trip and how beautiful it was:
We stayed at Rocky Point right outside Texarkana, Texas and it's now become one of our TOP favorite places to camp! I grew up in T-town and had never been to our lake, imagine that?! lol...
This was our campsite & our trailer:
This is our view as we walked out of our trailer:
*********I ALMOST FORGOT TO POST THESE! These pic's above are also one of my favorite things, my lovely husband, Josh, and his wonderful Grilling! He's smoking us some FABULOUS ribs for dinner in these pic's. They were awesome! He's a great grill master! I'm very fortunate, unlike my waistline! lol...
Isn't God's creation beautiful! I really spent this weekend re-evaluating my priorities in life and re-centered my focus on Him and my husband. Josh and I had a marvelous time and thanks for all the warm wishes that we would! We spent ALL day Saturday fabric shopping (yes! he went with me and helped me coordinate!), went to Books-a-Million and read peacefully together, went and saw a movie and then had a lovely dinner ALONE! Some times people think that just because we don't have kids yet that we spend a lot of ALONE time together but actually, it's rare that we are alone doing things, believe it or not! This weekend was truly a treat!
I also got to do one of my favorite things, sew! I got some sewing done at the lake and then last night! I finished two diaper bags and one checkbook cover.
This diaper bag was for a lady who's son's name is "Casen." I really like this name!
My mother-in-law commissioned me to do a diaper bag for a lady she teaches with who wanted one for someone she knows having a baby. She said she loves the Dallas Cowboys and the baby is a girl so this was the best I could do. It turned out better than I thought! I love the silver ribbon tie!
Here is Jenn's checkbook cover. The initials are "J H D" and the red isn't that orangy. I'm not sure why it appears that way but I think it's beautiful! I took advantage of the BEAUTIFUL scenery that we had at the lake to photograph Jenn's cover (didn't realize till today that the tree branch cast a shadow on it.. sorry :( )!
My next, favorite thing: DECORATING! I love love love to decorate our house, especially for holidays or seasons! I don't do any decorating for Halloween but I do decorate for fall! I got a little more creative this time and used feathers and raffia (SP?) and a lot of colors that compliment our interior colors. I love the fall and so I went ALL out this time! LOL
This is a picture of my crystal chyrio (sp? i never can remeber how to spell this word) cabinet that doesn't have much on it but I won this clock last year at an event and love to showcase it:
This is the centerpiece on my coffee table:
My dining room table centerpiece:
This one is one of my favorites! This is on our kitchen island as it's centerpiece:
This is one of my finds from my yearly Home Interiors Party, the Pumpkin Tricycle. I love it! It holds a tea light inside it and illuminates the whole mosaic pumpkin! It's gorgeous with the lights off!
And last but not least, our mantel. I always have fun decorating our mantel. I did add some feathers to the tallest red vase to the left that I found while we were four wheeler riding yesterday. LOL... hey, gotta work on a budget now! The feathers are gorgeous though! Josh's dad said they're turkey feathers but anyway, I'll post pic's of them tomorrow maybe but anyway, here's my mantel decor:
Wheewww! That's a lot to update ya on but I wanted to share some of my favorite things from this weekend and all that went on. Oh, one thing that's NOT on my favorite list is an addition to my accident-prone-self list. Haha.. I hurt my right big toe nail REALLY BAD yesterday while I was sewing. I stubbed it, get this (only I can hurt myself WITH MYSELF), on my left barefoot heel and bent the toe nail halfway back and it hurt like no bodies business and bled so today, I'm wearing summer flip flops, that do match my outfit, and have it all band-aided up. Ugh... I tend to hurt ONLY my right side for some reason but made up for that w/ a gashing papercut on my left ring finger. :( ugh.. I need a bubble to walk around in!
LOL
Hope you all had a great weekend and that you have a wonderful week!
