Sickly weekend of fun...

So our weekend started of kinda yucky w/ Rhett getting sick w/ a fever and nasty cough. That called for a weekend home, Josh taking shelby to her riding lessons and Shelby walking next door to a birthday party for her buddy, Tucker.

Shelby had a blast at Tucker's party! Pictures courtesy of Tucker's family..
I wish I could've been there to see all this. Shelbe loved walking over like a big kid and walked back. It was so sweet. She and Tucker have such a sweet friendship.

Rhett is now all better and life has gone on as usual.... Shelby's preppin for a big horse show Feb. 4-5th, getting her first buckle and awards $ and more for her year of riding w/ Cotton Country Open Horse Show Association in Ruston, LA this weekend, Rhett is loving having Max indoors still, he's almost 3, which hurts, and wants a Ninja Turtle party, he's become "the bossy one" at daycare and is full of mischief!
Our 2 kids are so different yet so equally amazing. They're both growing so fast and I feel like time is slipping away each and everyday. God has been pressing on my heart to be present and to be in the moment of each part of my day. The good parts, the not so good parts. Embracing every aspect... Embrace that Shelby is growing into a young lady and that Rhett is his own person and will be allowed to be.

This week w/ the Kee's

So this week has been pretty mellow...lots of rain and warm/cold weather so outside has been few and far between.  Work and school and church and riding lessons and on and on... the norm....
We also got a new bed, re-arranged the playroom and somewhat redecorated the playroom and our bedroom.
One night this week, Shelby and I made her a couple new Breyer horse stalls using the technique she found on one of her favorite YouTube channels, My Froggy Stuff. It was so much fun! Her next project is a tack stall! We used an old paper box from my office cut in half, scrapbook paper, Elmer's glue, scissors, box cutter, bamboo skewers, paperclips and an old chain from a Shrinky Dink bracelet. I even got the, "You're the best mom! I love it and I love you!"

Cool huh?!! So much cheaper than buying more barns and it's economical/ resourceful. :)
Shelby was happy to have these new stalls and her new Breyer horses she bought w/ her winning gift cards from her horse shows....
Here's our playroom and bedroom updates... new wall decor, layout and what not for the playroom and new bed, wall decor and will be new layout for the bedroom cause we got to sell our old bedroom armoire and chest of drawers w/ mirror before we can get our additional pieces :)... Know anyone who needs that, let me know!

 Max approves. haha..

Rhett's bday is quickly approaching and I cannot believe he is gonna be 3 less than 2 months :(  He's definitely his own person and personality. He has so much spunk and spice but he's still my sweet baby boy. I love it when he says, "mommy, I need you" when that means in his language, "I want you to hug me, love on me and be for ALL OF ME."  It's precious and hooks me....
He loves dandelions, just like his sissy...
He loves his dog, Max...
He loves to be like his Sissy and do what she does...
He loves to take pics and dance to music...
He's all about tractors, trucks, Ninja Turtles and noise...
He's still my little baby boy... but he is growing WAY TO FAST...

Keepin up w/ the Kee's..you will LOL

This new year has started off great and in a whirlwind between work starting back up and school it's been busy. Shelby's prepping for a big APHA show in February in Mississippi, Rhett is busy being Rhett and all boy, Josh is busy w/ work, I'm busy w/ work and so on... Not to mention, this weather is CRAZY. It was literally snowing Friday and now, here it is Tuesday, and it's 70 degrees outside and we are sweating. LOL...
I just wanted to share a little bit of what's been goin on the last week or so w/ us.
Shelby is surprising us daily! She was recognized in the Pinto Horse Association magazine for her winning back in November at Color Breed Congress as a Congress Champion in her Walk/Trot Novice Trail class! You can read more about that adventure here. They don't print the Pinto Horse magazine so here are the digital files of her achievements in 6 of the 7 classes she was in.

Not only did Shelby get recognized in ONE horse magazine this week but 2!!
πŸ₯‡πŸ†πŸ’œπŸ΄πŸ‘ΈπŸΌπŸ’œ    S  She also was recognized in the Paint Journal as APHA's (American Paint Horse Association) 3rd overall in the Southeast zone 6 for Walk/TrotπŸ₯‰πŸ’œπŸ΄πŸ‘ΈπŸΌπŸ’œ

Oh and she's super smart and has ALL A's for the Semester: 100 in Citizenship, 100 in Language Arts, 95 in Reading and 98 in Math! πŸ’œπŸ‘ΈπŸΌπŸš€πŸ’₯πŸŒŸπŸ“šπŸ“πŸ–πŸΎ

Rhett is being a super funny and ALL BOY.. HE'S SO AWESOME! He's very much into doing everything himself and is a hoot. So, I have to document his recent "adventure." haha.. You can't make this stuff up... FYI it will make you LOL so do not drink anything and DO NOT say anything to Shelby about this because she may find Rhett a new home if she does. haha...
Sunday, we were all getting ready, the kids were dressed and Shelby was playing Breyer horses in the playroom, when all the sudden I heard nothing. Hearing "nothing" means "NO GOOD" when it comes to Rhett. So I said, "RHeeetttt. What are you doing?" 2 seconds later, he coming running into our bedroom demanding we come see what he sees saying, "Da fish Daddy. Da fish is out! Winky is out!" Him being almost 3, he doesn't imagine stuff like this and is very competent of explaining himself well now and is very literal so I KNEW THIS IS WHAT HE MEANT. We rushed to Sissy's room and there Winky is, behind shelby's stand that her tank sits on. So, Josh gently grabs Winky up and puts her back in her tank. Ok so if you know us, you know that we have a fish, a dog, a cat and a horse. Her fish, Winky, was a gift from my first student worker 6 YEARS AGO. She got Winky at SAU's Spring Fling in the Mall Area and brought it to me in a dixie cup. Winky was gold and is now CLEAR and has survived for 6+ years now and has survived several cat encounters. Yes.. we have a 6 year old GOLDFISH....Ok, back to the story.. so after Josh put Winky back in the tank, I said, "How did Winky get out Rhett?" Examining his hands and arms there are fish scales and HALF OF WINKY'S TAIL IS ON THE FLOOR. I then look in the tank and there's needle nose pliers. I said, "JOSH! He caught Winky w/ NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS!!" I CANNOT MAKE THIS UP.. CANNOT...
SO.. Josh's initial response was, "Hmm..wow! that's impressive! Rhett caught Winky w/ needle nose pliers! That's great and very impressive!" haha.. really?! I then said it won't be if his Sissy finds out and kills him! SO.. we agreed that IF shelby notices Winky missing scales and half of her flowy pretty tail that we are just blaming Figaro (the cat)! hahaha.. that's what she gets for being so #pissykitty all the time. haha... so there ya go....

Keepin up w/ the Kee's is NEVER A DULL MOMENT that's for sure! haha
It's a zoo for sure... #maxthebeagle has been in for 5 days now and Figaro ( #pissykitty) thinks her life is over and she's totally abused but max, he's LOVING LIFE! It's just too cold for him to be out, well not today since it's 70 degrees now and was 25 on Sunday! uggghh....

He's such a good boy and sleeps right between Josh and I each night... he snores and all
these 2 have made our lives soo full!
