this week at the Kee's

not a lot is going on other than tryin to stay well and keep up with everyone's schedules. My calender is quickly filling up w/ events, birthday's (including myself on Feb. 9th....ugggghhhhh.... 3 2.... ouch... that was the sound of my back failing me), dance competition team practices, dance competitions, class parties, etc.... life doesn't seem to slow down.
It is nice to take advantage of the times that it does slow down though...

This little beauty is alllll about showing me new things these days that are knocking my socks off! Not only did she FINALLY willingly wear the pink fringe boots I bought her MONTHS AGO, but she learned how to tie her shoes (for the most part) and is all about writing in her journal. She wrote 4 sentences ON HER OWN at school this week in her journal and  her teacher was sooo proud of her! She also READ TO ME THIS WEEK! She told me she loves to do her homework and how fun it is! I pray it stays that way. However, when we start this Common Core Math mess.... I'm at a loss...it's soooo strange! Glad I've got a little bit of time left before i go completely bananas! Shelby has always been very bright and outgoing and I pray each day that her little light continues to shine!
Bubby this week is almost back to normal since his RSV episode.  His sleep is now regressing though, which isn't good for us. He's back to waking up for a bottle at midnight and this whole week he cries off an on ALL night.  I got a total of 1 hour of sleep last night. I only go in his room just once to give him his bottle and rock him and then I lay him back down sound asleep. All week he'll be fine but not even an hour later he's back to screaming. We just let him cry because all he wants is to be held. He's dry, fed, comfy, not in the pitch black dark and fine. It's the weirdest thing! I got spoiled to him sleeping all night long when he was so sick.  Once during the night is ok but the crying off and on all night is not.
this pic was from 1/7 when he turned 10 months but it's too cute to not post again

a couple weeks ago at McDonald's right before the sickness got him....lol
The weirdest thing is now since he was sick, he will eat foods! He's eating at least 2 containers of baby food a day as well as his 3-4 8oz bottles a day and will eat some table foods when we are eating after he has had his baby food.  it's a blessing really....
well I pray that we get some sleep. I'm beginning to hear colors i'm so tired....

RSV recovery

A week ago Sunday we woke up, got ready for church and went to Sunday School and church as usual.  Rhett was fine had a slight runny nose but also had another tooth coming in on top so I thought nothing of it. We went about our Sunday and all was normal and well. Sunday night after kids choir and our couples small group we got Rhett from the nursery and he just didn't seem himself.  He didn't sleep well that night either. He was snotty and had a cough by then.  Monday's and Friday's I don't work so it was a good thing cause Rhett woke up with a low-grade fever and the cough was much worse and to the point he was choking.  This continued on ALL DAY and night and by Tuesday, there was still a low-grade fever, cough, runny nose and NOW A WHEEZE. This worried me terribly and I stayed home w/ him.  I called his dr. and the soonest he could get in was 4:15pm (in Texarkana).  I made arrangements for Shelby to be picked up by Mammy and PopPop and Josh and I headed out toward Texarkana at 3pm.
Rhett's doctor and her nurses examined him and he didn't have a fever at the time but the cough, wheeze and runny nose still bothered me. One good thing, he now weighs 21 lbs and is 28" long.  After many questions and nose swabs it was determined that he was negative for the flu, but positive for RSV.  This terrified us both.  All we could think about was the poor baby who had RSV when Shelby was in AR Children's Hospital.  Dr. Calloway gave him a breathing treatment w/ the nebulizer (which was horrible and very hard to do as he screamed and wasn't having it!) in the exam room and told us that we had to give him breathing treatments for 2 days; 2 puffs from the inhaler (so glad it was an inhaler now and not the nebulizer) every 4 hours and 4 puffs at bedtime as well as benedryl every 4 hours.

I stayed home w/ him all week and it was very hard and heartbreaking. He is A MUCH HAPPIER AND HEALTHIER BABY NOW.  His dr. said if he wasn't 10 months and the size he is, he would have been admitted.  His wheeze stopped after about the 4th day and now his runny nose is almost gone and he's his happy little mischievous self!  He's even started eating food!!!!

It was a rough week and so tough on this momma too.  He missed his sissy so much but we are so glad she didn't get sick too. We are so fortunate to have Josh's parents here in town and Shelby adores them. They took care of her most of the week and that helped me out so much so I could focus all my attention on Rhett and getting him better. It was extremely hard to not have her around and be involved in all her activities.  She said she loved being at Mammy's and wanted to live there cause she has better Barbies. :) haha...
They kept Rhett for us while Josh and I gave her some one on one attention Friday night. Her "boyfriend," Weston, had his birthday party at a bowling alley in Springhill, LA and she had never bowled before but LOVED IT! She actually won each game!

we are soo thankful for this child and our baby boy.... God has truly blessed us w/ such a caring, loving little girl and a sweet baby boy.... We are soo glad he's better and that these two are reunited again!

Christmas and New Year's with the Kee's...

I'm just NOW getting to blog about our Christmas!
Instead of going on and on and writing a bunch of stuff, I'd rather show the pics from Christmas! Rhett's first Christmas was awesome, Shelby had a blast w/ family and of course her toys and Josh and I well, we had a great time just knowing they all had a great time! It's hard to believe it was our 10th Christmas together! :)
This was the Sunday that Shelby did her Christmas program at Church.

She can only hold him for about 3 seconds til Rhett is over it and her arms about break off. LOL

Rhett turned 9 months in this pic... yeah, i'm late... he's goin to be 10 months TOMORROW .LOL

Rhett's first pic w/ Santa!

Rhett really liked Santa, as well as Shelby too....

First family of 4 pic w/ Santa

Shelby made gingerbread houses at school in her class, The Owl Room. She also picked the PERFECT DAY to wear her Gingerbread House outfit, which Mrs. Summerhill thought was super cute and cool!

Elsa explosion

shelby loves to watch consumer reports on toys on her iPad.. LOL..
My brother, who we call "Uncle Bear", is truly amazing! He went off in our woods and came back w/ all this stuff like branches, vines, greenery, etc...and MADE ME A WREATH FOR MY TABLE from SCRATCH! it is beautiful and will now be a tradition!  The greenery is now dying off so i'm thinking i'm keeping the wreath part and just replacing the greenery w/ new throughout the year. It's stunning!

another interesting thing over the break...
rhett got his FIRST TOOTH on the top right (which i odd to me cause I thought they always got their bottom teeth first) ON Christmas day! Yeah... and...
he got half of the other one...and...
BOTH bottom teeth not even a week later...
so our Christmas break was this....
 and this....
 and this....
 and back to this...

 THE WHOLE BREAK.... LOL...
luckily, Shelby stayed her sweet, happy little self! :)
Bubby also realized he loves the DIY felt board I made shelby when she was a year old...
and that he loves Crackers and Graham Crackers! YEAAAHHH Food! This child has not liked food at all til now...he'll be 10 months old tomorrow! come on son....
he also has his daddy and sissy's hair.. LOL curly fry..
On New Year's Eve, we partied HARD....
Shelby and Josh shot pretty fireworks off the deck so Rhett and I could watch from inside cause it was TOOO COLD for him and then we roasted marshmallows and made s'mores inside. :) It was heavenly!

Rhett loves all HIS TOYS.... poor thing had nothing but hand-me-downs til Christmas. He's just happy to have his own things now...LOL...

we had an AWESOME Christmas and New Year's.... just being w/ family and friends is THE BEST GIFT we ever received!
