SHE'S 1 NOW!

This year has flown by and I can't believe our baby is a year old!!

mommy, why are we at walmart so early? Because, we're getting cupcakes for your 1st bday party at Miss Minna's "school' today sweet pea!

Her party at Miss Minnas last week on Wed. when she was there and Minna just tagged me on the pics she uploaded to Facebook. Aren't these adorable! The group of kids are all the kids she keeps that were there that day.

So I tried to upload updates from my phone to blogger but when I got on here last night it was all gibberish and weird so I guess that was a bust but anyhoo...
SHELBY'S 1ST BIRTHDAY WAS GREAT (Saturday, June 12)!!!!
Her cake came from All In Good Taste from Texarkana, AR and it was delicious!! Chocolate cake w/ buttercream icing and a CHOCOLATE #1!! MMMM
 She was such a little 7 lb. 12 oz 21.5" long baby and now...she's almost walking!
Hard to believe this was us and now here we are

This time last year...

So wow.... a year?? REALLY??? i CAN'T get over it how time has flown! This morning at 7a.m. marked 1 year ago when Josh and I drove to Texarkana and checked into Wadley Hospital. Looking back, we were sooooo clueless!! About this time (9:30am) last year, the AWFUL drip of Petocin started and this journey became TOTALLY NOT IN MY hand but TOTALLY GOD'S....LOL... anyhoo...today though, I get to look at this beauty and enjoy all the miracles of God in my arms...



The Easter Bunny even came to say Hi to Shelby today!


The prep for the 1st birthday party has began and will be underway in full force tomorrow!

new bag

I got to sew yesterday while Shelby was at Miss Minnas so while I finished an order for a sweet lady, I also decided to make Shelby a new bag! I had this idea in mind for a while but FINALLY got to execute it! I AM IN LOVE W/ IT! Shelby no longer needs the type bag she had as a "Baby" & since she's becoming a "big girl" I decided she needed something that was her personality, favorite colors (I say favorite and really it's the colors that look best on her) & TOTALLY original! I think I executed it all JUST AS I INVISIONED! What cha think?





then, this a.m. I forgot I forgot to put the beautiful flowers I made on it! LOL...so, HERE'S THE ACTUAL BAG NOW...


This bag is made of 4 different fabrics that I carefully made sure all coordinate. They are all from different designers so I can't say which one is my favorite but I must say, the Heather Bailey floral is really close!

Wow

So a year ago today was my due date and it's soo amazing to see where we are today! I looked back on my blog at this exact time last year and how I was feeling and just laugh at myself to see how ABSOLUTELY clueless I was! LOL....they truly say you have no idea till you have kids how amazing life is!
This was my blog post exactly a year ago today and thought how funny it would be to re-post it...
A year ago today on June 9, 2009 this is what I posted:
"well, today is my due date and I'm STILL HERE w/ baby inside. lol. No progress or feeling of progress at all. We go to the dr. today at 3:45pm so after that, I will try to post an update of what the "game plan" is. I do have a feeling that I'll hear, "Still no progression," and I'm fine with that but knowing that we will know what day, what time to arrive, what kind of delivery we're looking at, etc...will be comforting and relieving to know. I can't wait!!! Everything is ready for Miss Shelby. :)

I also got great work news yesterday that I am going on a 9 month contract as of THIS July 1! :) yeah!! So I will be able to be off w/ Shelby during the summers from now on! I also didn't realize that it would start this July so we were expecting no paycheck for me that month since I'd be on maternity leave but now, we will be getting a check for me! :) God is soooooo great!

Well, keep us in your prayers! I did sleep well last night, or better at least. I'm just anxious and ready to go to the dr. today! I cannot believe I'm 40 weeks pregnant today and that it's June 9, 2009, my due date and Shelby is not in my arms or the cradle next to me while I post. She is definitely showing us who's boss! haha..."

LOL I WAS SOO CLUELESS! LOL... AND LOOK WHO'S STILL SHOWING ME WHO'S BOSS...

Shelby goes to Miss Minna's on Wednesday's during this summer so I can have a day to do house chores & things I can't do w/ her and so since her birthday is Saturday and this is the only day she'll be w/ her "big kids" we went to walmart this a.m. bright and early (7:20am)to get cupcakes for her Miss Minna's Birthday Party. :) Shelby didn't seem to thrilled to be in walmart so early! LOL...she'll thank me later when she gets that cupcake! :) lol...
The birthday plans are under-way along w/ VBS every night & sewing and EVERYTHING ELSE that's goin on at the same time! LOL... I will give you this much about Shelby's party, now that her invites are out....(blurred out personal info..sorry :) )

It's a Garden Themed party w/ a Bumble Bee emphasis. :) Click on the pic to enlarge it for the CUTE wording I came up with for her invite. BTW, I ordered this from WH Hostess from etsy.com.

I cannot believe I am about to be a mom of a 1 YEAR OLD when this time last year I could not believe I was about to be A MOM....wow....I feel like I've accomplished so much in such a short time and yet I STILL FEEL lost as all get out...lol...it's amazing and never realized how great life could be. Josh and I are TRULY blessed and complete!

VBS Saddle Ridge Ranch

This week is VBS at our church and if you read the last post, I'm a Crafts helper! Soo excited! here is our room decor! I painted the horses on the wall and had soo much fun doing it!





This arrangement is one I did using my grandmother's boots and I think it turned out super cute!

This is our door poster, I did not do but thought it was super cute! I love this year's theme b/c being the "Muleriders" it's easy to decorate in a "ranch/western/horse-theme!"


Last night's craft was "LJ ID Bracelets ("LJ" stands for Lord Jesus)". The kids did great! They all got to decorate them however they want. This was the easiest craft and less-creative as the others but all in all was good for the 1st night! We had 102 kids & 65 workers! That's awesome for the 1st night!!




Also, this starts the countdown to Shelby's 1st Birthday & Party that is on Saturday! I CANNOT BELIEVE I AM JUST 5 DAYS FROM HAVING A 1 YEAR OLD... :(.... I SOOO VIVIDLY remember this time last year and would SOOO not change a thing or go back to that time! lol.... i was MISERABLE until the 12th! :)....

Buckle Frame

So this year's Vacation Bible School (VBS) theme is Saddle Ridge Ranch, which is obviously a ranch/cowboy theme. I am helping w/ crafts this time; I usually assist Josh who's over Recreation but when I found out crafts needed a helper I WAS ALL IN! WOO HOO! So, my "craft" is this TOO CUTE Glitter Buckle Frame for the fridge! I've decided to show you step by step/pic by pic how to make one w/ your little one/s!
First off, you need supplies!
Supplies


foam square (we used the rectangles b/c I'm having to do 70! so I can get 4 out of 1 rectangle)
glitter (color is your choice)
glue (you will dillute this w/ water)
marker (this will be used to trace your design)
rope/yarn/ribbon
magnet strip (small 2" piece will work)
tape
hole punch
picture of choice

You can draw off whichever "Buckle shape" you like but we chose this one:

Then you will need to cut it out and cut the center out like so

Once you've cut the center oval out and the buckle frame out you will then need to take your glue and add a little bit of water to it to dilute it and then paint a medium-size layor of the diluted glue all over one side of the frame and before it dries, cover it in glitter by shaking the glitter all over it until each space is filled & covered. I advice you doing this outside so the glitter won't be all over your house! Once you've covered the entire frame w/ glitter, pick it up and shake it off to remove any excess glitter. Your frame should look like this at this point and we will now hole punch the holes in it:

to punch the holes, I just kinda gaged how I'd like it to look so I did 8 at first.

you can even use a decorative punch (it maybe hard to punch through the foam)



next, take your yarn/ribbon/rope and thread it through the holes you just punched

You can either tie it in a knot in the backside or you can tie it in a bow on the front like I did.


Now, you will take your picture of choice and your tape and position the picture the way you want it to be viewed through the opening and secure it w/ some tape on the 4 corners of the picture.

Now take the small piece of magnet (we used self-adhesive magnets w/ a sticky back) and apply it to the framed picture
