Horsin around...

Our family weekends are now spent with the WHOLE family...Hooves and all...
Rhett is beginning to love to ride too! Anytime he comes with us for riding lessons which is not all the time, he wants to and gets to ride. He got to ride Hershey a little bit but this time he got to ride Abbie's horse, Booster. He's a sweet boy and I don't think he minded at all!
Shelby had an EXCELLENT lesson and is in prep for her next APHA show, March 11 in Mississippi. The biggest challenge has nothing to do w/ her riding but w/ her fitting into her show clothes. haha.. I'm thinking of a new shirt to start on for her. Her showmanship outfit had to have new pants and her jacket sleeves are going to need to be let out very soon!
It was such a beautiful weekend to be out at the barn.

Wow.... a year ago

You never realize how fast time really does fly until you have kids and you witness it firsthand. That REALLY IS a true statement. I've always heard that said, but it is true.
Looking back at pictures from last year and reading through my blog, like I do sometimes when I want to try to remember what we did a year ago, I came across what we did EXACTLY a year ago....

Now with a year under their belt, and many championships and ribbons, their bond is just stronger and stronger....

Talk about growing... geese.... Rhett is about to be 3 in 11 days and it feels like just yesterday Shelby was holding him for the first time :(...

just cherish these days... they go too fast... we know all too well...

Hershey is more than just a candy...

We cannot believe the amazing things this past year has held for our precious Shelby and our family since Hershey came into our lives a year ago. You can read about that day here. Hershey has completed our family in ways that we never dreamed. Shelby and Hershey are the perfect duo and their bond is sooo full! We went and had a great day w/ her and she and Shelby just played and played, gave Bubby a few lessons and then a few days after and had another great ride that ended w/ lots of cuddles and treats to celebrate Valentine's Day and the day we brought Hershey home for good.

We love you sweet girl! Happy 1 Year Anniversary home!

Dixie Nationals 2017- Jackson, Mississippi

A little later than expected on getting this posted so I'm playing catch-up cause I've got Dixie to post about here, my bday weekend next and then Valentines Day to post about next! Wheeww.... BUT.. for now,
Dixie Nationals....
What a weekend! We were all to go to Dixie Nationals, leaving on Friday (Feb.3) at noon, but Josh unexpectedly came down w/ a double eye infection and was unable to go. He stayed home w/ Rhett while he sent me and Shelby off w/ Gigi and Gramps. We were terribly sad he could not go, but thank goodness for FaceTime cause he got to watch mostly all of her classes as we saw it. He's thankfully feeling better now and made a full recovery and got to watch Shelby in all her glory in her classes! Even saw her win her Trail class!

here we go....
