This week at the Kee's...

Life is so much fun with 2 kids. It's a challenge but a great one! I know these days are quickly flying by and so I'm trying to soak up each day with them that I can. Our lives are so busy but we always make time to laugh, play and be together as we do it all! There's always going to be work at the office, dishes to be cleaned, floors to vacuum up Lucky Charms and Puffs off of, counters to wipe off, socks to pair up, beds to be made, laundry to do, and calendars full of activities, but these babies and will not be little forever so this week, I've tried my best to not let it all go, but to let some of it "rest" more than usual and take the time to be WITH THEM.
These two are so funny when they play together. The "he's pulling my hair," and "Ouch! Rhett pinched me" has begun but then there's moments like this that make us forget the whining and crying..

All that over a magnet being thrown on the fridge. LOL....

Shelby is changing so much these days! She LOVES Kindergarten still and I'm so thankful for that! She's had a few bumps in the road w/ people messing with her and making fun of her but that's life and part of it (it still hurts this momma though). She has made so many friends and recently rotated tables and is now at the Red Table w/ the daughter of our friends. She doesn't meet a stranger and never has so she adjusts to change rather well, more than I do and ever will! She's made ALL A'S every report card this year, has perfect behavior, and is full of exciting things to talk about each day when I pick her up, my favorite part of the day!

She is writing her own sentences sooo well and reading so well too! I just had to share what she wrote me yesterday and said I had to answer and write my response.
Her response to mine was, "well we live on a full ACORN and a 1/2 mom. That's plenty of space!" Lol... i guess my southern accent has confused her because ACORN and ACRE are two different things to me but sound the same to her. LOL....

Dance competition is coming up soon so I'm having to help Shelby practice more than usual, which is awesome and I love to do. Yes, we've had a few tears because she would rather play and watch a movie than practice tap and jazz 10x a day, but it's the commitment we made together and we fulfill our commitments. We may start with a couple tears but we always end up with smiles, giggles and lots of booty shaking, by usually everyone! She gets to perform her jazz dance with her teacher, Miss Randee Jo, who's also Miss SAU, as she "Passes the Reigns" down to the new Miss SAU next Friday. I can't wait to see them! She LOVES this dance! They're dancing to "Carwash". It's TOOOO CUTE!
Her tap dance is precious too! They're little brides dancing to "Going to the Chapel" and even though it's a cute, sweet dance, I still get the whole "Father of the Bride" moment and tear up. I know I will for sure when they're in their costumes as little brides! NOT READY FOR THAT!
This was tap and ballet last year... dang.... it wasn't even that long ago!! geese louise!!

this is my favorite dance pic of her. Thank you Angela for taking this

Onto the other baby...who's not much of a "baby" anymore...
He's a TOTAL MESS.. that's all I can say... Poor Shelby, Figaro and Max...

Rhett is growing by leaps and bounds! He had his well baby visit last friday and he's officially 20 lbs 13 oz and is 30" tall! He's right on track for weight but is in the 80th percentile for height! :) LOL.... He LOVES food now! He eats like crazy! He's also so much more animated! He's going to be walking soon I'm afraid. We taught him how to do the "touch down" movement (arms in the air) and to clap after and it's sooo funny! He's also started giving kisses! He's out growing EVERYTHING so we're gonna have to go shopping soon! I'm trying to hold off until the season changes but I don't know if that will happen or not! Rhett's also sleeping MUCH BETTER AT NIGHT! Praise the Lord! He rarely wakes at all now. He doesn't need a bottle during the night anymore since he's started eating so well! He now takes 3-4, 8oz bottles a day, at least 2 large containers of baby food, LOVES Veggie Straws, baby biscuits, puffs (sometimes! he likes to throw them on the floor more than eat these), french fries, anything we're eating really... He's going to be 11 MONTHS OLD on Saturday and I CANNOT BELIEVE IT! I'm so in love with this little man.

We are so blessed to have these amazing babies...I'll be 32 on Monday and never DREAMED my life could be this blessed!

this week at the Kee's

not a lot is going on other than tryin to stay well and keep up with everyone's schedules. My calender is quickly filling up w/ events, birthday's (including myself on Feb. 9th....ugggghhhhh.... 3 2.... ouch... that was the sound of my back failing me), dance competition team practices, dance competitions, class parties, etc.... life doesn't seem to slow down.
It is nice to take advantage of the times that it does slow down though...

This little beauty is alllll about showing me new things these days that are knocking my socks off! Not only did she FINALLY willingly wear the pink fringe boots I bought her MONTHS AGO, but she learned how to tie her shoes (for the most part) and is all about writing in her journal. She wrote 4 sentences ON HER OWN at school this week in her journal and  her teacher was sooo proud of her! She also READ TO ME THIS WEEK! She told me she loves to do her homework and how fun it is! I pray it stays that way. However, when we start this Common Core Math mess.... I'm at a loss...it's soooo strange! Glad I've got a little bit of time left before i go completely bananas! Shelby has always been very bright and outgoing and I pray each day that her little light continues to shine!
Bubby this week is almost back to normal since his RSV episode.  His sleep is now regressing though, which isn't good for us. He's back to waking up for a bottle at midnight and this whole week he cries off an on ALL night.  I got a total of 1 hour of sleep last night. I only go in his room just once to give him his bottle and rock him and then I lay him back down sound asleep. All week he'll be fine but not even an hour later he's back to screaming. We just let him cry because all he wants is to be held. He's dry, fed, comfy, not in the pitch black dark and fine. It's the weirdest thing! I got spoiled to him sleeping all night long when he was so sick.  Once during the night is ok but the crying off and on all night is not.
this pic was from 1/7 when he turned 10 months but it's too cute to not post again

a couple weeks ago at McDonald's right before the sickness got him....lol
The weirdest thing is now since he was sick, he will eat foods! He's eating at least 2 containers of baby food a day as well as his 3-4 8oz bottles a day and will eat some table foods when we are eating after he has had his baby food.  it's a blessing really....
well I pray that we get some sleep. I'm beginning to hear colors i'm so tired....

RSV recovery

A week ago Sunday we woke up, got ready for church and went to Sunday School and church as usual.  Rhett was fine had a slight runny nose but also had another tooth coming in on top so I thought nothing of it. We went about our Sunday and all was normal and well. Sunday night after kids choir and our couples small group we got Rhett from the nursery and he just didn't seem himself.  He didn't sleep well that night either. He was snotty and had a cough by then.  Monday's and Friday's I don't work so it was a good thing cause Rhett woke up with a low-grade fever and the cough was much worse and to the point he was choking.  This continued on ALL DAY and night and by Tuesday, there was still a low-grade fever, cough, runny nose and NOW A WHEEZE. This worried me terribly and I stayed home w/ him.  I called his dr. and the soonest he could get in was 4:15pm (in Texarkana).  I made arrangements for Shelby to be picked up by Mammy and PopPop and Josh and I headed out toward Texarkana at 3pm.
Rhett's doctor and her nurses examined him and he didn't have a fever at the time but the cough, wheeze and runny nose still bothered me. One good thing, he now weighs 21 lbs and is 28" long.  After many questions and nose swabs it was determined that he was negative for the flu, but positive for RSV.  This terrified us both.  All we could think about was the poor baby who had RSV when Shelby was in AR Children's Hospital.  Dr. Calloway gave him a breathing treatment w/ the nebulizer (which was horrible and very hard to do as he screamed and wasn't having it!) in the exam room and told us that we had to give him breathing treatments for 2 days; 2 puffs from the inhaler (so glad it was an inhaler now and not the nebulizer) every 4 hours and 4 puffs at bedtime as well as benedryl every 4 hours.

I stayed home w/ him all week and it was very hard and heartbreaking. He is A MUCH HAPPIER AND HEALTHIER BABY NOW.  His dr. said if he wasn't 10 months and the size he is, he would have been admitted.  His wheeze stopped after about the 4th day and now his runny nose is almost gone and he's his happy little mischievous self!  He's even started eating food!!!!

It was a rough week and so tough on this momma too.  He missed his sissy so much but we are so glad she didn't get sick too. We are so fortunate to have Josh's parents here in town and Shelby adores them. They took care of her most of the week and that helped me out so much so I could focus all my attention on Rhett and getting him better. It was extremely hard to not have her around and be involved in all her activities.  She said she loved being at Mammy's and wanted to live there cause she has better Barbies. :) haha...
They kept Rhett for us while Josh and I gave her some one on one attention Friday night. Her "boyfriend," Weston, had his birthday party at a bowling alley in Springhill, LA and she had never bowled before but LOVED IT! She actually won each game!

we are soo thankful for this child and our baby boy.... God has truly blessed us w/ such a caring, loving little girl and a sweet baby boy.... We are soo glad he's better and that these two are reunited again!
