Valentine sickness

Shelby and I were so excited for Valentine's Day! We prepped all week writing all 22 classmates a valentine, stuffing goodie bags, and making sure that the party would be a hit, as usual, in her class as homeroom mom.

We also had 80's night at church on Wednesday for the Children's Ministry fundraiser where over $5,000 was raised! Shelby had a blast dressing up and singing!

Shelby and I made Valentines for her dance teachers "You Dance My Socks Off With Your Love" attached to a rose-sock ! All our dancers wear pretty crazy socks with their shoes so it's appropriate :).
We gave her teacher and teacher's assistant a box of chocolates w/ Owl's attached....

Rhett even had valentines for his party...
Dinosaurs for each kid/baby

However...
Our Valentine's Day consisted of a sickly little girl.  Shelby came home from school Thursday not herself.  She laid around, which is normal, but she was more tired than usual.  She also complained about her head hurting which is always an indication something is up.
which was true cause she had a temp that night of 100.5.  Only a headache and a temp., nothing else! this virus is going around all over the schools. At the kindergarten, it starts this way, then the next day they have a cough, then the next they start throwing up, and the list goes on so I WAS PARANOID! I oiled her down w/ peppermint, lavender, thieves and diffused it all next to her bed all night. I prayed she would wake up Friday and be herself again, but she was not. She was better, but still a low-grade fever....that meant telling her she had to stay home from her Valentine's Party at school.  She also had to dance at Miss SAU w/ her competition jazz team and attend her friend's skating party Friday night too.

Her sweet friend's mom brought all her class valentines she got to the house for her after the party. It brightened her day!

I took her to the dr. Friday morning and he ruled out flu, strep, and anything else. She had just a virus and he said for us to treat her symptoms and that it would just have to run its course.  He gave her permission to dance and attend the party if she was fever-free and felt good, and she was! She did so well and had a blast at the party and dancing!
(I apologize for the video.. i turned it mid video to get the whole group)

She had so much fun dancing and they all did so good! They're excited for their first competition coming up soon!
Immediately following the pageant we "skated off" to the skating party at the Rider Rink on campus.
Shelby wants to have a skating party soon!

Shelby was exhausted by the time we got home and slept all night. Her fever stayed away until about 1am when a low-grade came back and stayed til about 8am Saturday.  I woke up feeling pretty crappy on Saturday and it kept Josh from traveling so we all vegged-out at home all day.  Shelby is still recovering from the virus and still pretty tired. She's been battling a tummy ache the last couple days and I pray she's all better for school tomorrow. She will be heartbroken if she has to miss again.
Here's a funny little video of Rhett's new "Blink Blink" trick too. LOL..

11 months & 32 years

Well, Rhett turned 11 months on Saturday & I turned 32 yesterday...OUCH... since I was gone out of town I didn't get to take his picture so here's a make up on Bubby...He's now 20 lbs 13 oz, 30 " long! he loves to eat food now, almost ANY table foods, takes 4, 8oz bottles a day, sometimes one during the night. He loves balls, cars, trucks, "stuffies"(stuffed animals), and to antagonize the cat.  he has started picking on Shelby and he'll just giggle when she tells him No! He's the sweetest little man and has started to give me kisses and others sometimes.  He likes to point and clap his hands to music too. We are so blessed to have this big Bubby in our lives.  I don't remember life without him in our family!

My birthday was good.  I don't like to make a fuss about my birthday because I do not like turning older. I don't want to be any younger, but just stand still...lol.. however, it's better than the alternative.... :)  Shelby made me a special bday cake that was sooo yummy and make me a pretty sun catcher for the den window of an owl. Josh and the kids also surprised me w/ MY OWN iPad! I HAD an iPad but Sheebs confiscated it 3 years ago as her own and so I've been using my iPhone for all, which aided in the destruction of my iPhone 4 and the recent upgrade to my iPhone 6+. I LOOVE the size of it and get asked that all the time! I don't need my reading glasses for it and I don't feel cramped texting anymore :).  The iPad is sooo much nicer than my old one, which was THE VERY FIRST iPad existed...I was very surprised. Shelby wants me to find a cool case for it. haha....
another year older always hits hard but I am BEYOND blessed and thankful for the life God has given me and the amazing family and support system I have now :).
Josh and I had an SAU Alumni event and baseball game in Dallas so he and 3 other friends of ours surprised me w/ a lovely cookie cake friday night at dinner at Maggianos.
Shelby and Rhett had a blast with the grandparents! Shelby went to Mammy & PopPop's while Rhett was at our house with Gigi and Gramps.

Love my new color and cut from Shear Illusions here in Magnolia and I DO Feel older....
So thankful to have another day on this earth w/ my family...

This week at the Kee's...

Life is so much fun with 2 kids. It's a challenge but a great one! I know these days are quickly flying by and so I'm trying to soak up each day with them that I can. Our lives are so busy but we always make time to laugh, play and be together as we do it all! There's always going to be work at the office, dishes to be cleaned, floors to vacuum up Lucky Charms and Puffs off of, counters to wipe off, socks to pair up, beds to be made, laundry to do, and calendars full of activities, but these babies and will not be little forever so this week, I've tried my best to not let it all go, but to let some of it "rest" more than usual and take the time to be WITH THEM.
These two are so funny when they play together. The "he's pulling my hair," and "Ouch! Rhett pinched me" has begun but then there's moments like this that make us forget the whining and crying..

All that over a magnet being thrown on the fridge. LOL....

Shelby is changing so much these days! She LOVES Kindergarten still and I'm so thankful for that! She's had a few bumps in the road w/ people messing with her and making fun of her but that's life and part of it (it still hurts this momma though). She has made so many friends and recently rotated tables and is now at the Red Table w/ the daughter of our friends. She doesn't meet a stranger and never has so she adjusts to change rather well, more than I do and ever will! She's made ALL A'S every report card this year, has perfect behavior, and is full of exciting things to talk about each day when I pick her up, my favorite part of the day!

She is writing her own sentences sooo well and reading so well too! I just had to share what she wrote me yesterday and said I had to answer and write my response.
Her response to mine was, "well we live on a full ACORN and a 1/2 mom. That's plenty of space!" Lol... i guess my southern accent has confused her because ACORN and ACRE are two different things to me but sound the same to her. LOL....

Dance competition is coming up soon so I'm having to help Shelby practice more than usual, which is awesome and I love to do. Yes, we've had a few tears because she would rather play and watch a movie than practice tap and jazz 10x a day, but it's the commitment we made together and we fulfill our commitments. We may start with a couple tears but we always end up with smiles, giggles and lots of booty shaking, by usually everyone! She gets to perform her jazz dance with her teacher, Miss Randee Jo, who's also Miss SAU, as she "Passes the Reigns" down to the new Miss SAU next Friday. I can't wait to see them! She LOVES this dance! They're dancing to "Carwash". It's TOOOO CUTE!
Her tap dance is precious too! They're little brides dancing to "Going to the Chapel" and even though it's a cute, sweet dance, I still get the whole "Father of the Bride" moment and tear up. I know I will for sure when they're in their costumes as little brides! NOT READY FOR THAT!
This was tap and ballet last year... dang.... it wasn't even that long ago!! geese louise!!

this is my favorite dance pic of her. Thank you Angela for taking this

Onto the other baby...who's not much of a "baby" anymore...
He's a TOTAL MESS.. that's all I can say... Poor Shelby, Figaro and Max...

Rhett is growing by leaps and bounds! He had his well baby visit last friday and he's officially 20 lbs 13 oz and is 30" tall! He's right on track for weight but is in the 80th percentile for height! :) LOL.... He LOVES food now! He eats like crazy! He's also so much more animated! He's going to be walking soon I'm afraid. We taught him how to do the "touch down" movement (arms in the air) and to clap after and it's sooo funny! He's also started giving kisses! He's out growing EVERYTHING so we're gonna have to go shopping soon! I'm trying to hold off until the season changes but I don't know if that will happen or not! Rhett's also sleeping MUCH BETTER AT NIGHT! Praise the Lord! He rarely wakes at all now. He doesn't need a bottle during the night anymore since he's started eating so well! He now takes 3-4, 8oz bottles a day, at least 2 large containers of baby food, LOVES Veggie Straws, baby biscuits, puffs (sometimes! he likes to throw them on the floor more than eat these), french fries, anything we're eating really... He's going to be 11 MONTHS OLD on Saturday and I CANNOT BELIEVE IT! I'm so in love with this little man.

We are so blessed to have these amazing babies...I'll be 32 on Monday and never DREAMED my life could be this blessed!
