24°F IN MAGNOLIA?!! SERIOUSLY?? WOW!
So today is yet ANOTHER snow-day for Magnolia. However, Josh got to work (because he's an early bird) and THEN they called it and SAU closed. All the other schools were closed and SAU is always the last to decide because they have to consider the commuters and those coming from afar to work/school.
I'm all about the beauty of the snow but 24°F??!!!! THAT HURTS IT'S SOO COLD! We had to go to Walmart last night for a few items and it was soooo cold I squealed! LOL....
I REALLY WANT to get some pics of Shelby in the snow but she gets a runny nose soo easily and has had a lot of drainage lately b/c of this crazy weather and I don't wanna chance it. Plus, if we try to take her out, get a picture and come back in, she'll flip out b/c this kid is an outside girl!
This was her last week playin in our driveway w/ a catapillar...She's soo funny and LOVES animals!

SHE'S SUCH A HOOT! I love that she says soo many words now and mimics almost anything you do! It's soo fun!!


it's soo hard to believe she was 10 months old in this picture! Stacy from Cloud Dust took these and surprised us and dropped these by the other day! They are mounted to foam board (well printed onto a foam board material) and I wanted them in a place where people can see them and so what better place than the guest bathroom?! This is a shelf that is soo special (to me anyway). This shelf hung in Josh's bedroom as a kid and it's sooo beautiful and the perfect size for a few little beauties.
The guest bath decor is very ME....I hand-painted the walls (not like you normally paint a wall; I had Josh paint it a light tan then I took colors of rust, brown, gold, red, copper and chocolate and painted it like a canvas. It's beautiful (to me and not sure if anyone else likes it or not and we may paint over it someday)and original. The shower curtain is a GORGEOUS rich fabric of reds, gold, brown w/ a touch of teal in a luxurious paisley print. It came from Walmart years ago....lol.... I have collected crosses since Josh and I got our first home, which was a 2 bedroom apartment by the college, and so this is my "cross room". Our friends, Wes & Ashley, contribute to our bathroom decor almost every year! They gave us THE GORGEOUS cross hung on the wall above the shelf as well as a picture above the toilet.
The two pictures Stacy brought by are two of my favorites from this photoshoot that we had in April 2010 and what better place to put these but here; on the shelf I love, next to the figurines I love and where people I love will most likely visit (LOL). I see them now for bathtimes (this is Shelby's bathroom; it's next to her room) and tiny teeth brushing and now potty training! So, feel free the next time you come over to use our "facilities" and you can view the beauties I love to see everyday!

I've only worked out MAYBE 3 x this week too and i KNOW once i workout more, i'll see the results more too! It suggests you work out for at least 30 min a day and drink lots of water and just basically change what types of things you eat and not starve or stop what you eat and follow the plan. Woot Woot Wednesday

First off, my HUGE "WOOT WOOT" for today is....that I was very upset for the rumor going around that Josh & I are expecting again, WHICH WE ARE NOT, and the fact that this KEEPS COMING UP!!!!! So we squashed that from the person who brought it to our attention IN WALMART of all places and I left it for a day as my Facebook status...lol...it hurt sooo bad b/c I DO need to lose the rest of my baby weight and infertility weight (THANKS A LOT CLOMID) but would carry this and more to have Shelby as she is now and how wonderful she is!!!! BUT I've been on a "Lifestyle" change for a week now and eating right and being right to my body and.....drum roll please....

I'VE LOST....

8 POUNDS IN ONE WEEK!!!! (it was 6 lbs last night so 2 more lbs lost since last night!!!) IN A HEALTHY WAY!!!

There are No Ordinary Days

What a great weekend!! We had a great day Saturday spending the morning together at home as a family, taking a nap together & then went to a birthday party for our sweet friends the McDougald's. Hadley had her 1st birthday party and it was sooo fun! She had a big bouncy-obstacle-course thing and a little bouncy thing that Shelby liked for like 2 seconds and was immediately drawn towards the big one where ALL the fun was! Ashley got some great pics and I'll post ' em when I get 'em! :) Leave it to me to forget my camera and not even think to use my camera phone! DUH....
Church was great too!!! We've started a new fellowship called 4x4 where 4 couples for 4 months get to know each other out of church. Bro. Steven picked the groups and we got our groups tonight. This is gonna be soooo fun! We scheduled our first fellowship for Friday at my house! :) We are gonna have soo much fun! Each group is soo diverse! Ours consists of my familly (2 adults and 1 toddler), The Basinger's (2 adults, 1 teen boy, 1 pre-teen girl, & 1 almost 2 yr old girl), The Morgan's (2 adults over 50) and the Long's (2 adults over 50). We are gonna have BBQ (mmmm) and play Scrabble (some type of anyway!)!! Can't wait!!!
I love having things to look forward to in my week. Since becoming a SAHM, the time w/ just me and Shelby alone is great but after a while, I MUST HAVE something to do to get us out of the house!! This weather's been soo great here so we've been able to be outside a lot and we've found out how FUN the park is! Shelby TERRIFIES ME by how adventurous and FEARLESS she is (100% JOSH!)! She climbs the faux-rocks to get to the TOP OF THE SLIDE to slide down FOR THE VERY 1ST TIME HEAD-FIRST as she laughs the whole way down and then wants to do it again!! OMG....she wore me out!! She also LOVES the big huge slide that I couldn't take a pic of b/c she was scaring the bee-gee's outta me so I was momma hawk tryin to keep her alive! LOL...but I did get these adorable pics!!!!

SHELBY AMAZES ME DAILY HOW FAST SHE'S GROWING AND IT'S SOOOO BITTERSWEET!! OMG she is ALMOST 2!!! :( I love every day w/ her (good and not so good...there are no bad days b/c Shelby is good, God is good and my life is good! Just as the journal Josh got me says, "There are no ordinary days...") I think it's hit me how fast she's growing when we redecorated her room to her "Big Girl" room...I finalized it w/ her wall decals..THEY ARE ADORABLE! I found them on eBay but they are from Target (just as the bedding was too). The thing I DON'T LIKE about them is that they do NOT stay stuck like the dots & my scripture vinyl does. Guess that's what ya get for the price...they are still cute though!!! They stay stuck, just some parts come up w/ the humidifier on or her heater on at night by the morning time.

I JUST LOVE her bed!! Her room is sooo cute!! I wanna live in there!! LOL

her bow holder USE-TO be a leotard silouette w/ tutu but now it's just a big bow blob! LOL...I also LOVE seeing the smocked dress she wore her 1st day at church (Father's Day 2009). She was 2 weeks old.... *tear*....It's a reminder of how fast time has flown by....

I didn't want to remove her scripture b/c it is soo symbolic and meaningful of our journey to Shelby and so it's only fitting for the tree to surround that and to show the growth of our family. I also wanted the little squirrel, that she kisses each morning, to be on her level to love on and see. I kinda built the "scene" around her bed and how it's made up w/ the pillows so the decals are above where the pillows lie. I've got 3 more custom-made hootie owls coming from my Phi  Mom, AmyG (she was my sorority sister, pledge class mom-mentor). She's got the same bedding and decor in her girls room and made THE CUTEST owls for her little girl's so she's making some for Shelby's in 3 different sizes and w/ custom-monogramming!! She made the brown one and a sweet lady made the other one out of the quilt fabrics, which i love how whimsical they are!! I love how different they are and how one side is different than the other! Can't wait to see what she does w/ the 3 for Shelby! She said she's gotta something creative in mind! :) LOVE IT!! I'm sooooo glad to know and have a sisterhood w/ such a creative person!! Love you AmyG (even though you're now Amy M! LOL)!
Ok so if you've been reading my blog, or know me, you know how shoes are my "thing!" lol... usually the higher the better but...I've found some new "loves" that are flats!! I do love ballet flats but these are actually comfy, EXTREMLY COMFY and if I had known about them when I was pregnant, I would have worn them 24/7!!!

I got the silver, which is sooo adorable and sassy, and ordered me and my mom the black glitter too b/c she would look toooooooo sassy in them and would match her work or play clothes! I got the black too b/c I wear a lot of black b/c I've convinced myself that black REALLY IS slimming! LOL....

Josh says these look like something Michael Jackson would've worn and asks me if I'm gonna bust out a Moon Walk anytime soon but ya know, he's always known I'm a flashy dresser/accessorizer! LOL...Gotta love me! I may even have to get the pink one's to support my Phi Mu sisters which it's rush week comin up and wanna wish the girls the best of luck!  Bring 'em on  HΦΜE  sisters!
Well...ya know I can't leave ya w/o some Bizzy B's news...Bizzy B's will be showcased on The Magnolia Square coming this Spring!!! :) I will fill ya in more later on the location and details soon!! It won't be in the typical store... :) It's a store that's SOOO MY STYLE AND GENRE OF PRETTIES! :) I've got  A LOT of sewing to do and it's gonna begin this week....

New Year & New Look

What cha think?! Didn't Leslie do an AWESOME job redesigning Bizzy B's?!!! It is sooooo fresh, vibrant and TOTALLY me!! I am 100% in love w/ the new look!! She was soo generous and kind to work w/ ALL MY OCD ISSUES AND CONSTANT "WHAT IF'S"!!  Her blog is sooo great to follow & read also so go check it out!
I am just GIDDY w/ my new blog look!!! :) I also LOVE my new signature! :) I've been holding off on blogging last week to store up for more posts w/ my new design! It was nice to have a break from blogging but I missed it!! :)

Little Big Girl

FIRST THINGS FIRST, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY DAD (his bday was yesterday, Jan. 22nd)! thank you for being my Daddy and for loving me unconditionally!! Shelby is lucky to have such a great Gramps like you!

First off, I MUST SAY....I LOVE LOVE LOVE OWLS...and I get it honestly b/c my mom loves owls and used to collect them....however lately i've found that owls are the cutest thing and all the options of them and their sizes are just too adorable!! Ucreate did this post the other day and linked to this ADORABLE little guy pictured above! I WILL BE MAKING ONE OF THESE FOR SOMETHING for Shelby's new room decor!
On that note, today was very traumatic for me and for Shelby...
we disassembled her crib and put her new big girl bed up. We ordered this GORGEOUS twin trundle bed and MONTHS AGO I ordered her bedding/room decor and well we put it all together this weekend. Yes, I cried, A LOT...She's getting too big and I'M NOT FORCING IT OR EVEN TRYING TO MAKE HER grow up. She's learning to potty train on her own (she's peed in the potty twice and poopied once!! today, she went and sat on her potty but I couldn't get there in time to pull her diaper off so she peed in her diaper so TECHNICALLY she did pee "on the potty"). She pulls her pants down herself and everything!!!!!!! She's a HOOT, which fits considering the room decor she has now! LOL...

Here's where the tears began to flow... this was the last time EVER Shelby's room would look like this (not the mess but the decor...the BABY bed)...

the last time I'd stand right here and see this and see her sweet little body in that adorable crib w/ the bedding I swooned over for months and cried when it came in and was clean and put in that bed....

the last time "Daa Daa" would take her night night bed partners out of her bed to move them so we can change the sheets out (in this case to take the sheets and bedding off permanently)...

the last time I'd hear the creaky, squeaky, clangy railing I lifted up and cursed at tryin to get down each morning and night...the last time diapers would be changed in there since she's too long for her changing nook...

 But w/ all these "last's" come "first's!"...

first time Shelby helps Pappy and Daa Daa put something of hers together (as she tries to help which is actually stripping the screw holes...lol)

first "father/daughter" project...

first time REALLY using her hammer (it's fake) Pappy got her for Christmas from her tool box...

first time sitting on her big girl trundle bed...(before the mattress of course)...

first time we could get her still enough and to stop bouncing off the wall w/ glee over her new bed to take her picture...

and the first time her new bedding and room decor is all in place in her bed she'll sleep in from now till she moves out...

first time we tried out the new railing before we realized the mattress that was Josh's was too tall and so we switched the trundle mattress (thinner) and it's half the size of the mattress pictured (the trundle pulls are the top drawer pulls and the bottom three are actual drawers for storage!! :) HUGE PLUS w/ a girl who has a momma who has a shopping problem)...

first time the bedding is JUST THE WAY i wanted it placed...which didn't last long when Daa Daa & Shelby decided to try out the bed....

first time "Banana the bear" has buddies that don't play music, smell like a baby and aren't smaller than she is...

first time Shelby tried out the railing (that btw, is VERY STURDY AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! $34 at Walmart; more than I hoped to pay but has a wedge that is connected so there is NO WAY she can get an arm or anything else caught or slide down between the railing and the mattress!)...

first time outside as a "Big Girl" who has a "Big Girl Room" now...yes, she put on her Daa Daa's hat as he told her and turned it backwards when he said to as well!! She's talkin to the neighbor two doors down, dog that I call Polar Bear (he's a big fluffy Chow-mix dog lol...)....

but even this "Big Girl" still has some "little" in her...notice the Pap Pap...lol...I CAN'T TAKE THAT AWAY...my heart can't take it!!

Woot Woot Wednesday RAIN CHECK



SO, I DUNNO WHY my blog didn't post my post for Wed. when I TOLD IT TO but o welll..guess this is just a Woot Woot Raincheck :)
Before last night (Wed. p.m.), the post below was my "Woot Woot" for this week but, I've two new ones!!!
1) our 2nd Mom2Mom is today and we are excited about what the Lord is doing! If you can, come by! It's at Immanuel Baptist Church (on the bypass across from walmart here in Magnolia) and is from 9:30-11:30 :) NURSERY IS PROVIDED for those up to Kindergarten.
2) Shelby POOPED AND PEED IN HER POTTY LAST NIGHT!!!! :) She was squatting and WE KNEW she was poopin so we told her to go to her potty and she did!!! :) She was sooo excited!! :) She will be 19 months on Feb. 12th! :) She's growin too fast! I thought about takin a pic of it and of the action but I didn't...lol...waaaayyy too much TMI if  I did that! She'll kill me as it is one day b/c of discussing this! This pic is from the other day...she knows the concept but last night was the 1st time it clicked...she's "Mimicking" this lately...yes, I know when she's 16 and sees this blog post she will DIE AND I WILL GET THE ROLLED EYES, "MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMM" LECTURE but I DO NOT CARE...IT'S TOO CUTE TO NOT SHOW YOU...lol... She HAS TO DO this everytime I do but she's yet to do 'anything' in it but it's a learning process and this is progress :)...she knows that this is where you do "that" so that's HUGE! :)

So already I'm behind on blogging and it's a new year! O well.. Since it is a new year and all the drama w/ my blog design, I've officially got a new blog desing coming from Leslie! :) She's a lifesaver and total saint for dealin w/ my DAILY emails of "what if's" and random questions lol....CHANGE IS GOOD...CHANGE IS GOOD...CHANGE IS GOOD.... personal reminder....

Anyhoo, enough wallowing....NEW FABRICS CAME IN!! WOOT WOOT!!!

These will be used to make 3 ADORABLE outfits for a dear friend of mine who has a 9 month old and is having photography taken in February. They currently live in Korea (just moved right after the baby was born) and are comin in to visit family in Houston. I am HONORED to be the designer of her little precious girl's outfits! :) She's also gettin a CUTE duffle bag as well :).

Another "newness" is my hair...my local hair tamer did a great work on me this time around... color & cut

Ok, well not much else to say today...takin a bit of a blog breather so I probably won't post til next wednesday where I'll have LOTS to "WOOT WOOT" about then! I will leave you w/ these photos though....lol..no explanations needed....
