CCOHSA 1st show of the season...

Well, the 1st Cotton Country Open Horse Show Association show of the season was this past weekend in Ruston.  They made it into a 2-day show, which was kind of inconvenient since all we had were 3 classes on Sunday that could have easily been done on Saturday and us not miss our church. There were a lot of changes to this association  that were not in our favor, unfortunately, but Shelby did not let this affect her at all. She was made to choose classes to show in based on just her age. It's unfair but it is what it is. She chose to continue to ride in 13 and Under Limited classes and her trainer & coach, Alan Shaw, chose to ride Hershey in the Open Limited classes Shelby was no longer allowed to ride in. What's ironic and not surprising is that they both won their divisions so the association making Shelby choose between classes so "other competitors have a chance to win" was not successful when Hershey won them both anyway. It's a long, crazy story that after this weekend was proven to be a bad choice for the association. OH WELL.... we will continue to show as much as Shelby wants to. Enjoying the ride & Shelby always improving is what is important, not winning...
Shelby did win though.. she won High Point for 13 & Under Limited (She won 1st place in all but one class and it was an adult class that she won 2nd out of 6 in!)...

Her new Western outfit was a hit too!!

She decided to wear her good luck charm, her purple vest and black chaps for Trail so we had a wardrobe change again..haha..... She did EXCELLENT in her trail class and it was totally hard, to everyone but her. She said it wasn't hard.. lol...
So Booster was upset all his friends were in their english classes and he wasn't so mom was comforting him..haha...
These girls are quite the team. The enjoy watching each other ride and cheering on each other.
Shelby always makes sure every horse has enough treats & love!! haha..
