9 Months old

Shelby turned 9 months old on Friday! Wow...I cannot believe I have a 9 month old! I LOVE this age! She is sooo much fun!
Here's a little update into the daily life of Shelby, better known to us as "Sheebee Shake:"
She's now crawling, pulling up to stand, she said "Maa Maa" once, not sure how much she exactly weighs but we're guessing 18-19 lbs, is probably 27" long by now (again, not sure, we've not gone to the dr. yet), is VERY verbal w/ baby talk, can "Patty Cake" quite well, LOVES to clap to music, Smiles 24/7, is VERY sociable (gets it from Josh for sure!), is VERY much a Momma's Baby, makes THE cutest little smirks, can go 90 to nothin in her walker, loves to "get the puppy" (chase, slap, antigonize him), LOVES her daddy to rock her to sleep each night instead of me, smiles at you when you tell her "No No No" when she's doing what she shouldn't be, sleeps from about 9pm - 6:45am every night, is beginning to eat table food a lot better, STILL HAS NO TEETH AT ALL, loves to eat Yogurt Melts & Star Puffs, likes her "cup" which is a transitional bottle to a sippy cup that she can and rarely holds herself but is beginning to drink juice out of more often,

drinks no more than 4 8oz bottles a day w/ formula & cereal mixed (she will only drink it that way for some reason), loves bananas & carrots Gerber baby food; has one of each daily, is very much my child in that she LOVES jewelry and anything that sparkles (LOL), and is the best baby I've ever seen (yes, I'm biased and partial, but I've been told this as well not just by family :) )! I am so proud of you Shelby Lynne! You are our world and we love you more than we ever could imagine! Happy (Belated) 9 month birthday! Mommy's already planning your 1 year birthday, AND YOU GET TO GO ON YOUR VERY 1ST CRUISE 8 DAYS AFTER YOUR 1ST BIRTHDAY (June 20-27th)!! WOO HOO FOR US ALL!
love you baby girl....you have made our lives so much greater than we could ever imagined and our love soooo strong! One of my favorite quotes (No idea who wrote this sorry) is and has always been, "Having a child is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body." I never realized how true that is until you came along Shelby.

Fractured Friday

LITERALLY it's a "fractured friday" here in my world....not only was Shelby up from 10:30pm last night till 4:00am this morning, but as some of you have read in my previous posts and Facebook status updates, I've been suffering, from what I thought, was pleurisy that I found out today is in-turn a cracked rib. Yeahp...I cracked my rib from coughing so much. Leave it up to me! I just thought I was talented. I can crack a bone w/o even being hit! :) SO, I'm in a lot of pain, that you can't fix or really do anything for, STILL coughing, which I have to hold my boob very tight to do (which after having Shelby and breastfeeding her for the 7 1/2 weeks I did that, there's nothing left in my boobs so it doesn't hurt to squeeze 'em..sorry, TMI). I'm tired, I'm in pain, and the weather is RUINING my "dookey curls" I was bragging about :(...The Chi still does better than the curlers and curling iron though..
Anyhoo...
Today is my Sheebee Shake's 9 month birthday! I cannot believe it! Wow....9 months already?!
Here she is, sportin her headband as a choker necklace. That's my girl; use your accessories a variety of ways! A girl after my own heart! ;)

This is her, "Hey mommy, get me outta the car seat now" face... or you can interpret it as, "hey, what's up?!"

Hope you don't have a "Fractured Friday" but instead have a "Fabulous Friday," Spectacular Saturday" and "Spiritual Sunday!" Josh and I are singing together at a wedding tonight so that ought to be interesting since I can barely stand to stand must less stand up straight and use my full lung capasity! We are also singing w/ my hairdresser, Joana, on Sunday and I'M SUPER excited about that! We've all been wanting to sing together for a year at least now!

SPRING!

So for those of you who are not from or familiar with Southwest Arkansas weather, we get usually less than a week total of fall and spring then it's full on winter or summer. SO, when we do have those few days of MY TWO FAVORITE seasons, I TAKE FULL advantage of them! I love the sunny, cool in the morning, warm in the afternoons, cool in the evening-type days...so those 2 WEEKS a year we get, I'm in heaven! See, I'm EXTREMELY hot-natured so these 2 weeks are the only time in the year I am 100% comfortable. :) LOL...
YEAH FOR SPRING! These are a few of the beautiful flowers in our yard & our neighbors. The purple ones are my favorite! They aren't any bigger than the end of a pencil eraser but sooo beautiful & delicate. I also love the red chamilia. It was hidden amongst the gorgeous green leaves.

God's creation amazes me! We added an extra bird feeder to our backyard and have to refill the two of them almost daily!

Layla Grace

This morning, precious Layla Grace passed away, losing her battle w/ Neuroblastoma but running into the arms of Jesus pain-free. Please pray for her family's strength. She was in a lot of pain & suffering even this morning early so I know it was rough on her parents & siblings. For now, the link to Layla Grace isn't working but I will add it anyway.
http://laylagrace.org
**Here is the twitter page: http://twitter.com/LaylaGrace
I posted about Layla previously this week on my "Please Pray" post.

Rest in peace sweet angel...your work here on earth is over and your life has blessed many and shown God's glory through it all...
Please take a moment and view this video of Layla Grace.
My heart cannot wrap around the sorrow and the hurt the Marsh's are feeling but I also cannot wrap around the feeling of relief, joy and thankfulness that they must be feeling that Layla is now at the feet of Jesus where there is no pain, no tears, no sorrow or even worry of tomorrow. I know they are terribly sad Layla is gone but are also rejoicing because she is finally in no more pain or suffering. Her little body did all it could here on earth and boy, what a work it did for the Lord!

Hmm..transition to WordPress?

Ok so I was reading recently how WordPress is the new "thing" for blogs and how if Blogger decided to delete my blog they could and all my precious memories would be gone and so on and so forth...and I AM FREAKING OUT!! So, I immediately thought, "Well shoot, I'll just transition to WordPress." Ok, so once again, reality did not sink in and the thought of having to learn a new blog program and the work it took me to learn this one and how to make it cute and so on...did not sink in until now. Yes, I went and set-up a WordPress account, but that was it. NO IDEA WHAT TO DO NOW.. CAN ANYONE HELP? How do I transition to WordPress? I mean, is this something you can like click a magic button and ALLLLLL my previous posts and blogging (vents of insanity)will magically appear? I AM LOST....AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do not want to have to work super hard to make this work so if it's gonna be a pain in the "you know what" to do, then I'm not down for that and I'll just keep on keepin on w/ Blogger and PRAY they do not decide to delete me. Maybe if I add enough pics of Shelby they will say, "Awww, we won't delete this one b/c just look at that precious baby! She is too cute for words and this blog MUST remain for the world to ooooo and aaaahhh over this child." LOL :)
Ok, got another question....does my hair look dumb?

So I know like all 2 of you that read this will say, "OH girl, Naaa you look great!" So let's take off our "Sunday School Answer Hat" and say how you truly feel! LOL... I have always had a dilemma fixing my hair. See, I've got a lot of hair (in amount) but thin in texture so it's tough to manage at times. I've found that long hair suits me better and makes me not look like a total idiot. I do LOVE my new "Joana Do" but am not sure I'm fixing it right. See, my hair is BOARD STRAIGHT w/an odd wave pattern in like random sections of my hair so I'VE NEVER been the "wash, blow dry & go" gal...NEVER.... I ALWAYS have to fix it. I used to straighten it, well straight, but then I thought that made my face look fatter (part of that is thanks to Shelby and the lack of control/drive I have to lose the pre-pregnancy, thanks-a-lot-Clomid-weight from the infertility days) and so I thought I'd curl it...I've always liked to curl my hair. I dunno what it is about a good ole "dookey curl" that makes me smile. You know the one; the big, perfect, bouncy, ringlet that YOU PRAY will stay all day and that the rest of your hair will do. THAT'S THE ONE! So, I'VE FINALLY MASTERED THE "DOOKEY CURL" ALL OVER! Believe it or not, I DO NOT USE CURLERS OR A CURLING IRON! :) "WHAT'S THAT YOU SAY? NO CURLING IRON OR CURLERS? HOW DO YOU DO IT?" lol... well, I use my Chi. :) Yeap! My "straightener" "curls" my hair. LOL...You should've seen the look Josh gave me the first time I tried it and it worked. He said, "Umm, why are you using your 'straightener' to 'curl' your hair?" LOL... for some odd, unknown reason, my hair WILL NOT curl AND STAY w/ curlers or a curling iron any more. I have to use my Chi. Joana even used her 450 degree curling iron and it didn't work. LOL... See what I deal w/ on a daily basis? See what I have to work w/ everyday?! Life is a pile sometimes....BUT, I have mastered this technique and now I have this thought in my head, "OMG, what if I look like a total idiot and no one has the guts to tell me?" SO... be honest... do I need to X the curls or continue on? I like the curls but if it's out-dated and just too much, PLEASE LET ME KNOW! :) THANKS :)

Ok, so on top of my hair-insanity thoughts, I think I have pleurisy. Yeahp, what's that you ask.... well, here's the answer you will get if you Google it: Pleurisy, also known as pleuritis, is a condition that results from the swelling of the linings of the lungs and chest. The pleural cavity (area between lungs and inner chest wall) is created by two lubricated surfaces called pleura, the inner pleura lining the lungs and the outer lining the chest wall.

A variety of factors can cause the pleura to become inflamed and rub against one another, rather than slide smoothly, as one breathes. This is the cause of the chest pain associated with pleurisy (often called pleuritic pain).

It's either that or I've cracked or bruised a rib. I am in TERRIBLE pain that will not stop and of course when I cough, it's like being jabbed in the rib over and over. I have had to sleep on an ice pack, which I lost in the bed last night and HAVE YET to find it, the last 2 nights and NOTHING is helping. I've been told that nothing really will regardless if it's Pleurisy or a cracked/bruised rib. I am also a bit worried b/c I can pin-point it and touch it and it's a lump-like spot that is under my right breast, well after I lift it up (thanks again to Shelby...lol...)and put my boob WHERE IT USED TO BE. I am going to see how the week goes and if it continues to get worse, then I will go get it checked out. So for now, I need to find that ice pack and take some advil. :(
Oh, Bizzy B's is SUPER SUPER busy, well I need to be, with orders to do so please pray for patience in me. I tend to get worked up and antsy and a bit snappy when I've got a full plate. I know I have 2 hair bows, 1 diaper bag, 2 wipe cases and a new feather headband to do all before the end of April. I am thankful, I truly am, I will just need to watch my attitude and manage my time. I am getting a lot better at doing that. Thank goodness I've always been good at multi-tasking!
Any WordPress help and hair advice would help me too! ;) just had to throw that in :)

Lovely weekend

This weekend was great! Josh and I went to Shreveport, Louisiana Friday night and had a great night alone! We didn't run into ANYONE we know, which is odd and great, and we had a lot of time to ourselve. It was so refreshing! We had a full night's sleep, which is unusual and nice! It was just nice! We went shopping Saturday and had a great time in the BEAUTIFUL sunshine all day!

Then when we got home, we took Shelby on a walk down the farm road at the college and went to visit Molly, the mascot; Molly the Mule, Mr. Donkey & Mr. Bull. They were ALL friendly, especially Donkey & Mr. Bull!! Shelby LOVED them and even pet them!
Shelby had a great time w/ Mammy & Pappy Friday night and Saturday. Pappy even let her drive! lol... well sit at the wheel when it was in park!

Birthday Box

So, I thought it would be neat to make a "Birthday Box" for my blog to post the changes in Shelby since day 1!
Photobucket
I put this on the bottom of the blog as well as on the "Shelby" page. :) Hasn't she changed?! Wow!! So, when the 12th rolls around, I'll be adding to it each time. 9 Months is next! Wow...
Josh & I are headed for a getaway trip, JUST THE 2 OF US, till saturday evening. We have been trying to do this since our anniversary (5 years on Dec. 11th) but something always seemed to happen to where we couldn't get away. We are soo excited! We are spending the night in Shreveport, LA. I love to go there! I am soo looking forward to sleepin in tomorrow too! woo hoo!! Shelby is gonna have a blast w/ Mammy & Pappy so she's in good hands! Don't worry! :) She may stay up all night long b/c she's so excited but she'll be fine! She's a "Wiggle" remember?! LOL
***OH, please continue to pray for Layla Grace and her family. I blogged about them yesterday. My heart is still very troubled and heavy in prayer. I try to read her mom's Twitter updates to get the latest news. If you aren't caught up on their story and journey, please go here and read and PRAY for this family. Also, there is a "donate" button on their blog and all proceeds go to pay for Layla's medical expenses so if you feel led to give, please do. I know any penny will help this family.

Please Pray

***I had to add more precious pics of Layla Grace from here. I just had to...***
**Here is the background on Layla Grace if you would like to read the full story and diagnosis***

I've seem to have been hit w/ difficult news in all directions of possible losses in friends lives and then the struggle that this dear family is facing and dealing with who I've never even met. I take life for granted SOOO often and truly don't cherish the moments I have each day w/ Josh and w/ Shelby. I don't know what I'd do or who I'd be if this was me facing what these families are facing. Please keep my two friends in prayer who are both expectant mothers who are both dealing w/ what doctors are saying are "pending miscarriages" as well as this precious little girl, Layla Grace and her family.

(These pictures are from the blog Layla's parents write)The one's of her and her daddy pierce my soul. I see Shelby in these soooo much and that hurts even more and makes this all the more real.
You can read the blog that Layla's parents post to catch up on her journey. She is in her last days on this earth fighting Neuroblastoma and as I look at the 165 photos they have of her, I see Shelby in sooo many of them and it scares me to death to know this could be her and that that could be us and makes me wonder why someone so small, beautiful and who's a precious gift from God is in so much pain and hurting so much and even has cancer while her parents and siblings watch her suffer. It is so hard for me to praise God through this. It makes me angry, even though I only read this blog they post, to know that someone so small is having to go through this and is dying in her own bed, unable to stay awake, unable to eat, all while her parents watch her slowly die. It hurts...Being a mother brings out a whole new kind of hurt in me. I never knew I could love someone so much as I love Shelby & to know how that feels and to know how losing someone feels is awful to combine together and feel for a child. I wish I could cure this child. All I know to do is pray and ask you to do the same. I don't know if she's gonna make it...all the signs say she isn't but I know if she does pass away that God will be glorified regardless...
God has a plan in all this though and it's not my place to question that so I'm going to praise Him, as much as it hurts to do that...
Just pray...

Wiggly Wednesday

In case you haven't noticed, which it's not that big of a change, there is now a task bar below my header graphic w/ tabs for you to click on to see my About Moi, Shelby Pics, Our Love Story, Birth Story, Creations, etc...!!

This is a new ap to Blogger and I finally figured it all out! :) So, I did delete some aspects of my page and moved them up there, so if you wanna see all that I've made, click on the Pictures tab and it has the slideshows. If you wanna see the cuteness of Shelby, better known as "Sheebee Shake", click on the "Shelby" tab! You get the picture! :)

Just a little update on to what Shelby is doing these days...
SHE'S INTO EVERYTHING as you can tell! "Wiggly" doesn't EVEN begin to describe her! She is a mess! We even think she said "Maa Maa" last night! She DEFINITELY said something other than jibber-jabber! Josh was holding her and she did it and we both were shocked and I said, "What did she say?!" He said, "SHE SAID, 'MAA MAA'!" LOL..
She is crawling like a speed demon, pulling up on EVERYTHING, loves to stand up and bang things on the floors. She also loves to torment the dog, Dee Dee. He is terrified of her and not too sure why at night, she's in the little white box (the baby monitor) and during the day time she's out and about bothering him. LOL...She recently discovered Dee Dee's "House House" (his crate that is only used as his toy stash; the dog has tooooooo many toys but gets made if you try to throw any of them out) and I had to shap some shots of that discovery, as well as her new FAVORITE entertainment spot while "Maa Maa" gets ready,... THE CLOSET....which is in DYER NEED to be cleaned & organized. Don't judge...lol...yes, I KNOW I have a problem and NO I'm not showing you ALL of the issue. I have the largest wall in the closet w/ two rows FULL of clothes and only wear about half of the two rods...I know..but at least it's not ice cream I'm obsessed with...that adds to tha hips! I'm just covering them :)....ok, so no,that's not a good justification for my problem... "Hi, my name is Bekah, and I have waaayyy too many clothes and feel the need to constantly purchase more..." Step 1) acknowledge the problem.... Step 2) forget about it and continue on as if you don't have a problem.. :)
Ok, so here's our little Wiggle...

OH AND I JUST REALIZED, SHE DOESN'T HAVE A BOW OR ANYTHING ON HER HEAD!! AAAAHHHHHH lol.. wow, a first!
