Indi-ready!!!!

So a week from now we will be on our way to Indiana to stay the week w/ my BFF Nichole and her sweet family. I cannot be more excited!!!!! Back in the summer we all met up in Memphis and we have been trying to get this trip together since then!! They live in Indiana and so we wanna meet and see their town and this summer they'll come here to meet and see our town!!
This week is very busy with a church Children's Committee meeting, Nursery Coordinator meeting, Hair appointment w/ Joana, and packing for the trip with the grueling thought of flying with an almost 2 year old and me keeping my composure with flying b/c it freaks me out!!! I also have only flown once and when I did I got searched and my personal belongings were violated and searched all because of Chapstick when our traveling group got on that plane with fingernail clippers and a metal fingernail file!! So pardon me if I'm not "for" flying AND I'm terrified of heights!!! We will leave Little Rock airport at 10:35a.m. next tuesday and we'll have a 3HOUR layover in Chicago and have to reboard a different plane but it's all worth it to see my best girlfriend!!!! This is a God thing for real!!! In case you haven't heard the story of how Nichole and I met, here it is:



Nichole and I have known each other since we found out we were pregnant with our baby girls. We both were members of the What To Expect When You're Expecting forum support group. When you join, it separates you by your due date and you can also join specific forum groups on there too that are specific if you have issues or specific needs in your journey and she and I were in the June 2009 board where all the moms there had due dates in June. She and I clicked on there, I'm not sure when but I remember goin gaa gaa over her nursery decor and our due dates were reallllllll close (our girls ended up being 6 days apart; shelby was born June 12th and Cambry was born June 18th) and I think that led to a deeper connection where we exchanged Facebook and email info and from then on we've kept in close contact and talk almost everyday and if not, we text or Facebook for sure! Up until this past summer we had never met face to face and when we did that just sealed the deal that we truly are alike and BFF 's ( other than our husbands of course!)!!!
I can't wait to go to Indiana!!!!!!!!!!!! This is my sweetie pie, Cambry Paige:

Blue beauty

This gorgeous little bird perched outside the playroom while Shelby and I played today at home (we stayed home from church to keep her from spreading her Thrush) and she stayed here perched for probably half an hour while Shelby and I admired her beautiful blue and orange body the Lord gave her. I feel like He did this just for us today to show us how beautiful life can be in Him. Even though she and I didn't make worship today we worshipped at home in His beauty!

He also showed me how beautiful His little gift to me is growing up to be too!

I'm learning how smart Shelby is growing up to be also. She loves books and puzzles and Play Doh so much!

Preteen bows & clean bath

A dear friend of mine has a preteen daughter who wanted some bows since that seems to be the fad lately for a side swoop w/ a bow holding it back...lol.
She didn't care how many or what they looked like so I just went wild!!














I also did a solid black one w/white dots in the center.... Cute huh?

Ahhhhhhhh I cleaned yesterday and decorated the bathroom back! What cha think? We are thinking of a new rug though and something for the window. Any suggestions???

Thrush day 2

Well...today (Friday) was better.... Shelby acted more like herself and played a lot so praying she sleeps b/c she didn't the last night (thurs.), AT ALL!!!! So even though today was good, momma and daddy are tired and daddy had to drive to Little Rock! However, look at how much better her lip looks, which the inside does too....

I think its funny i got her to make this face not just once but twice to take her picture!! Hahaha
It's just red and still raw but no new blisters or white patches! Intact, the white patches are gone! Thank you Nystatin and Amoxicillin! However, we are not thankful for you keeping Shelby up all night and makin her wired!!!

Ahhhh today was sooo nice nit hearing construction and I got to clean!!! No more dust anywhere! I cleaned every cabinet door, door facing, baseboard, etc...all thats left that's dirty is the now 2 week overdue laundry since we couldn't do it b/c it would just get dirty from the construction while I was doing it...ugh...but I love not walk in on dust anymore!!! Gotta mop the bathroom again though b/c it's still dusty after a lot of hard mopping! The shower is done (except for the glass) and will be used as soon as the grout dries!!! :) cleaning all this wiped me out along w/ no sleep from the Thrush fairy but I still can't sleep! Lol
Please pray for Shelby, and us....we are now back at square one w/ her eating and sleeping again. She has never slept or eaten well and was just getting to where she was eating and sleeping but now we are back in the " newborn days" all over again.... I'm trying to be strong but I'm tired and feel defeated...

Thrush

Well, today was a normal, dusty house from construction still kinda day, starting out... Shelby slept late, the shower will be grouted and useable after today and the sun was shining, UNTIL about 11am when I noticed little white bumps and patches on the inside of Shelby's lips and tongue as well as....well crap! HER WHOLE MOUTH! She didn't eat well yesterday at all and last night screamed when she did so we thought, great, more teeth so i didn't think twice about it. I remember seeing a little white patch on her lip and thought she bit it cuz shes silly and makes faces all the time so i blew it off (give me the Terrible Mom of The Year Award now please!) However this time when I caught a glimpse of her mouth I FREAKED OUT and I did what any panicking mom would do w/ a foreign illness and.....
I take a pic w/ my Blackberry and send it to my mom!
Lol...come on...you know you would too!! My mom quickly diagnosed her with...



Yeap.....you guessed it....THRUSH......We've been by the Thrush fairy and I really wish she never would've entered our lives. My sweet baby is Miserable and cries and cries b/c it hurts so bad anytime something hits the inside of her mouth. I panicked and called almost every doctor in town trying to get her in and treated and no one was free or would fit her in so Mammy called and made them understand that she's a baby and isn't eating! So, the doctor called me and called shelby in Nystatin and some Amoxicillin so we now Pray and hang on tight. We fot her to eat some ice cream, Lucky Charms and a few chocolate chips. Don't ask....we are in survival mode ( I told you to give me the Terrible Mom of The Year Award now didn't I?)....she also drank 5oz of her favorite juice, V8 Fusion Strawberry Banana ( she loves it and we love that she gets tons of nutrients and stuff from it!) and a full 8oz of strawberry whole milk! Progress! So anyway...I'm expecting to get Thrush considering how much I'm around Shelby but I'm praying we don't. It's always something! Josh has also been puny w/ stomach mess so it's no fun here lately. All this w/ our shower re-do in progress and my OCD pushed to it's limits and me on the verge of going bananas from the mess....
But....it's 99% done but totally useable now as of 8:30pm!!! The glass will be installed early next week; it's going at the top of the two walls w/ no door. I love the grout color and the wall color we chose and dang, just the whole thing!!! The fixtures are perfect!! My phone took strange pics tonight so they look hazy and lighter than usual so this pic below is the actual tile color..

Shower is almost done!!!

This is my first time blogging using BlogPress on my iPad so here goes!!!

Our shower is sooooo close to being finished I can smell it!!! The tile is ALL in and all that's left to be done is grout it all, install the fixture, another coat of paint on the walls and install the two glass pieces that will be at the top of the 3' walls! The glass won't be in until next week but our fabulous contractor says the bathroom will be ready to be used after tomorrow (just w/o glass)!
Here's the progress so far...
Earlier this morning the border to the entrance of the shower wasn't done but now it is and the floor of the shower is done!! You can kinda see the new wall color! I call it "makeup concelor" lol...but it's real pretty w/the tile! Oh and the blue laundry room will be painted in the "makeup concelor" as well! Lol

Woot Woot Wednesday

I got to sew!! WOOT WOOT!!! :) I'M FINALLY CAUGHT BACK UP!!!! :) Now that I've said that, I'll be behind again :(.....lol....
I finished up Erin's order, you can see the rest of it here w/ her ADORABLE outfits, and Erin's plans changed so I had more time to finish up which is great b/c the snow totally messed up my whole calendar of orders!! Stupid snow! LOL...but anyway, her Slender Duffle Bag turned out beautiful! It's really slender and great for all those little baby girl's toys and necessities!

I just love how the monogramming turned out! Thanks Teddy! :) He always customizes my work for me and soo sweet and prompt, :) Even though I'm always last minute :(....

I also got to sew up Rebekah's (great name btw! :) ) shower gift for her friend and finish it and I'm soo excited b/c SHE JUST FOUND OUT SHE'S HAVIN A GIRL!! :) yEAH!!!!! She's due July 11th and I just love the name they've chosen:  Makinley Michele

Here's the bag and wipe case she ordered for her friend....Love the colors! :) Very neutral and different than the usual girl bag!

I love getting to use Minky Dot fabric! :) It's sooo rich and soft and just perfect as an accent to any bag! :) It also comes in ALL colors so it's perfect for any bag! :)

Speaking of babies, NO I' M NOT PREGNANT NOR ARE WE TRYING TO BE..LOL, but I was OVER THE MOON when I read Megan's blog  yesterday and found out they are expecting ( and read today's post to see even more exciting news!!!!!!)!! If you don't read her blog or haven't heard of her, she's a fellow Texarkana girl and friend of one of my friends, and she and her husband had a little boy 9 months ago and he had a heart condition and lived for 11 days and was delivered into the hands of God June 18, 2009. I highly recommend you reading her inspirational blog and add them to your prayer list! Her news today was BREATHTAKING AND TRULY GOD!! :)

Shower progress

Just a short and sweet post to show how gorgeous the shower is turning out to be! It's not done yet but is closer everyday! We chose a wall paint color last night so after the shower is finished they will paint the bathroom! Soooo ready to shave my legs sittin down on my bench in our heavenly shower escape!!!
I am gettin to sew this week!!! Yeah! Stay tuned for pics of my new projects!

Woot Woot Wednesday

Today's Woot Woot is a combination of random things..lol...

1st off, here's our shower progress:

We have light! Today they are puttin up the backer board stuff inside the shower and HOPEFULLY will be all tiled in and done tomorrow :)

So a NOT SO Woot Woot is that Shelby is STILL not sleeping well...She seems so tormented in her sleep.  Something is bothering her and I feel like it's the devil! EVERY NIGHT I pray over her room and her as well as use her Gentle Baby Essential Oil as I pray over her and her room.  It's heart-breaking! She's not hurt when she wakes up and I usually get her a cup of warm milk and she'll go back to sleep but after 3x of that a night we are beat!!!!! She takes a 1 to 1 1/2 hr nap a day so it's not that she sleeps too much during the day and is FULLY ACTIVE all day so SHE'S GOTTA be tired. She goes to bed easily and stays asleep till about midnight then the screams begin. :( Any advice???? OH and NO MOTRIN, TYLENOL OR BENEDRYL PLEASE B/C THEY MAKE HER WIRED AND I DON'T WANNA DRUG HER!

Today is a sewing day but I'm waiting on my fabric to come in that HAS TO come in today b/c the bag is for a shower THIS WEEKEND!! Why "inclement weather" has to hit where my fabric comes from NOW I don't know! But the bag will be fabulous!!! :) :)

Sickly

So I think some sort of illness has struck me....I took Shelby to the dr. yesterday b/c she had a low-grade fever for 24 hours and turns out she was just fine and has a minor cold but me..no idea...i started feelin achy and drowsy and just like poop early afternoon and then got sick last night and tend to get sick still if I stand up or do anything...:( it hurt for the sheets to touch me last night...:( O well...k so i'll get off my pitty party lol...
My dear friend from Little Darlings is doing a giveaway but you MUST HURRY to enter (Sorry I'm just now posting about this but ya know me....Life= chaos)! She makes the cutest things and the little Tooth Fairy Pillow is adorable!!

So.....another interesting thing goin on here is that our shower is being renovated! :) We have the typical built-in shower-tubs that most homes have but ours, so I realized, is damaged. The previous owner hid the massive hole she made in the tub w/ a patch and I thought for the longest it was just soap scum she couldn't get off and so I'd just scrub and scrub but then I realized it was a flippin HOLE!!! So one relaxing bath-kinda-morning, I was washing my hair and my elbow started hurting so I look and the hole-patch now had a HOLE next to it!! OMG...and I busted my elbow :(....so Josh and I decided to just have the whole crap-tastic thing taken out and have an adult shower put in! :) We are having it done this week (thanks to our tax refund) and having a fully tiled in, floor to ceiling, big shower put in w/ a bench :)!! It's gonna be sooo fabulous! I'll probably live in there for a while LOL....We still have a tub in Shelby's bath (the guest bathroom) so we're gonna keep that b/c Shelby doesn't like showers for some reason lol....Here's the progress so far after only ONE DAY of construction!

WOO HOO!! no more craptastic-holy-tub! :) The two 3' walls will be sheet-rocked up but tiled inside and the walk-in will have no door. From the 2, 3' walls to the ceiling there will be glass and the rest is ALL TILE! EVEN THE CEILING! :) Also, they are moving our shower head up b/c as it is right now, it hits me in the neck! Yea, whoever did the showers must have been 4' tall b/c they are insanely low!! HATE THEM!!!!
The shower is supposed to be done THIS Thursday! :) Can't wait! I'll HOPEFULLY post more daily pics of the progress. I will for sure on Facebook. Today is a day where I'm just gonna revamp and relax and get out later to take some items to be monogrammed but other than that....i'm trying to get well....Shelby's at Miss Minna's today and tomorrow since she missed last week so I have a free day :). Tomorrow is sewing day! Got a diaper bag set and a duffle bag to do and then those orders are done! :) Then on to more!! I'm debating whether to post my projects order list on here or not....what do you think??
